Any hitter that digs in against RHP Luca Dalatri (Christian Brothers Academy, NJ) better be ready. The No. 2 prospect in New Jersey’s 2016 class is already imposing with his 6-foot-6, 245-pound frame, but he pounds the strike zone, forcing opponents to swing the bat. Between four major events—the East Coast Pro Showcase, Area Code Games, Metropolitan Classic and Word Wood Bat Championship in Jupiter—Dalatri logged 14 innings. He allowed seven hits and just one walk while striking out 21. To throw that many strikes, Dalatri makes sure he works to repeat his mechanics rather than ramping things up to blow hitters away.
