Labor Day Challenge: Rawlings Hitters

The Rawlings Hitters have one of the best collection of 2016 graduates in the Midwest. Their roster makes up eight of the top 13 2016’s in Wisconsin. Here’s a look at who we’ll see this weekend at the Labor Day Challenge.

The Hitters’ will be led by No. 2 ranked prospect SS Gavin Lux (Indian Trail), Lux is coming off a productive summer where he was selected to compete in the Area Code Underclass Games earlier this month. Lux will be joined up the middle by second baseman Jacob Snider (Champaign Central) who is ranked No. 17 in Illinois.

Ranked No. 7 in the state, Michigan commit Dominic Clementi (Arrowhead) will be making his return to the diamond after suffering a concussion earlier this summer. The Hitters outfield will be stacked, alongside Clementi will be Illinois commit Cyrillo Watson (South Milwaukee) and TD Walker (Milwaukee Lutheran). The Hitters will also bring 2018 graduate Jarred Kelenic (Waukesha West) who appears to be one of the next up and coming prospects in the state.

On the mound Illinois commit RHP Ty Weber (Menomonee Falls) will lead the staff followed by RHP Ryan Selner (Milwaukee Lutheran), RHP Matt McCarty (South Milwaukee), RHP Aaron Steinhoff (Horlick) and RHP Takoda Metoxen (Franklin) who are all ranked top 26 in the state.
