Kentucky Recruiting Notebook

Several more prospects have named their schools recently.  A look at who is going where:

Zeke Pinkham became the second Class of 2015 prospect to commit, both to Louisville.  Pinkham, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound, left-handed hitting catcher from Elizabethtown HS has a sweet stroke to go along with a quick release behind the plate.  Louisville now has commitments from No. 1 ranked Riley Thompson and the No. 3 ranked Pinkham.

Connor McHugh, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound RHP/SS has committed to Western Kentucky.  McHugh, ranked No. 9 in the 2014 class, showed big arm strength and good athleticism at multiple PBR events, most recently the Unsigned Senior Games Event last month.  McHugh’s fastball touches 87 mph with good arm-side run and, he has good command of his sharp 74-77 mph slider.  At the Top Prospect Games in June, he showed 89 mph arm strength across the infield and followed that up with 92 mph at the Unsigned Senior Games.

Riley Jackson, a 5-foot-10, 175-pound, left-handed hitting C/OF from Lexington Catholic HS has committed to Louisville.  Jackson, ranked No. 14 in the 2014 class, has good catch and throw skills behind the plate with very good arm strength.  He runs extremely well, and his athleticism and arm strength will afford him the opportunity to play outfield for the Cardinals, as well.

Nick Eggemeyer, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound, projectable RHP from St. Mary HS has committed to Evansville.  Eggemeyer, ranked No. 18 in the 2014 class, showed a fastball that touched 86 mph at the Top Prospect Games in June, and then followed that up by touching 88 at the PG WWBA National Championship in July.
