Kenosha Preseason I.D.: Statistical Analysis

The Kenosha Preseason I.D. took place on Saturday, January 27 at Fielder's Choice Training Facility in Kenosha, WI. This event featured over 90 prospects from all classes. Prospects participated in a pro-style workout in front of the PBR Wisconsin Scouting Staff. Today, we begin the event analysis with a stats story.

TOP FASTBALL VELOCITY
2017 Future Games participant Austin Glidden (Westosha Central, 2019) was clocked at 85 mph on the mound, an event best. LHP Christopher Barnes (Sussex Hamilton, 2019) took home top honors for left-handed pitchers, topping out at 83. Representing the Class of 2020 on our leaderboard is Nick Cairo (Bradford, 2020), who ran his fastball up to 83 as well.

Physical 3B Simon Dembiec (Lake County Lutheran, 2019) came up just short of breaking the 100 mph exit velocity barrier with a 99 mph. Right behind him is Jared Heinzen (Tremper, 2019) at 96, followed by Glidden at 95.

After posting the top fastball velocity and a top three exit velocity, Austin Glidden (Westosha Central, 2019) took home another top spot, this time infield velocity. Glidden was clocked at 91 mph across the diamond. Coming in as runner-ups are Reese Dutton (Tremper, 2019) and Tyler Swanson (Burlington Central Catholic, 2020) at 86 mph.

Arguably the most talented crop of prospects at this event, the outfielders showed off some serious arm strength. Alex Salerno (Westosha Central, 2019) led the group at 92 mph. Kyle McKinnon (Bradford, 2019) and Jack Heiring (Christian Life, 2020) share the second spot at 87 mph. It should be noted that Tommy Specht (Dubuque Wahlert (IA), 2022) was clocked at 82 mph.

Riley Hughes (Bradford, 2019) came away as big winner from this group, his 2.00 pop time was an event best and 78 mph from the crouch good enough for second. Benjamin Bergeron (Waterford, 2019) just edged out Hughes in catcher velocity at 79 mph. One catcher to keep an eye on moving forward is Emmanuel Scott (St. Ignatius (IL), 2021).
