The 2017 Major League Draft takes place June 12-14. In advance of the draft, Prep Baseball Report is posting a summary of each state in the coverage area with scouting reports on the top high school draft prospects.

The 2016 high school class was historic for Kansas with two first-round picks, a third-rounder and sixth-rounder. Understandably, 2017 doesn’t have the same punch. There are no PBR Draft 100 prospects, but a few players warrant follows as they head off to college.

OTHERS TO WATCH: Though it won’t produce a first-round pick like LHP Joey Wentz in 2016, Shawnee Mission East was a team to follow this spring with a couple of righties and an outfielder.
