The Kansas high school season is nearing quickly, and we're here to cover it. Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2023 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, leading into a countdown through the official PBR Kansas Preseason Power 20 Rankings.
We’ve submitted a Preseason Questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.
Team: Heritage Christian Chargers
League: Kaw Valley
2022 Record: 12-6
Classification: 3A
Head Coach: Bart Briley
Years at the Helm: 12
OUTLOOK
The Chargers are returning a good core who all have great knowledge of the game. After finishing second in their league last year, Heritage Christian will look for seniors Connor Kudrna and Brayden Bivens to lead the way this season.
Finding a solid rotation is something that is a main focus for the Chargers, as they are lacking some experience on the mound. Replacing their starting third basemen and left fielder from last years team is one of the main concerns for this coaching staff.
