Premier futures baseball evans
Adam Kloffenstein, RHP, Magnolia HS, 2018
Getting the start for Premier Baseball Futures Evans in game four, the TCU commit stands 6-foot-5, 200-pounds with a strong frame, working up-tempo between pitches. He throws from a high-¾ arm slot with a smooth, clean delivery and bumped his fastball up to 88 mph, while his curveball ranged from 74-76 mph with 11-5 shape. His changup was 77-78 mph. The junior was tough on hitters as his fastball has good cutting action, settling in at 85-87 mph.
Ryan Segner, RHP, Fredericksburg HS, 2018
The Baylor commit stands 6-foot-2, 195-pounds, working from a high-¾ arm slot with a fast, long, whippy arm action that gets good extension out front on release. The first three fastballs out of his hand were 88 mph, while his curveball sat 73-74 mph.
Justin Collins, C/3B, Memorial HS, 2017
Rice Commit. 6-foot, 205-pound frame. Well defined lower half with good hip mobility. Threw well between innings with multiple 1.96 pop times, working with a short, quick arm slot and excellent carry in the arm. The right handed hitter has a solid set-up in the box with a push-back leg kick, athletic lower half, workable swing and loose finish. He had a double to right field and registered a 4.62 home-to-first time on the turn.
Nick Loftin, SS/RHP, Ray HS, 2017
Baylor commit. 6-foot-1, 160-pound athletic frame. Loftin has a live body, strong arm, advanced, fast-twitch actions, and long strides. The right-handed hitter lined out to left field sharply on the barrel, he also grounded out to shortstop twice with a 4.32 home-to-first time. Loftin also got on the mound, working 84-86 mph with an aggressive delivery and whippy ¾ arm action. He threw a slurve at 70 mph.
Kelby Weyler, SS/OF, Warren HS, 2017
Rice commit. 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame. The athletic shortstop has smooth, midline glove-work, solid actions and accurate arm.
Owen Meaney, RHP, St. Thomas HS, 2018
Louisiana State commit. 6-foot-5, 220-pound frame, broad shoulders and long arms. Works from a high-¾ slot scattering his fastball around the zone 84-88 mph with some depth on his arm side. His curveball was 69-73 mph with loose spin.
Eduardo Malinowski, SS, Klein Oak HS, 2017
Penn commit. 6-foot, 165-pound frame. Solid defensive actions with good rhythm through ground balls. Average, accurate arm strength. Long stride runner with fast-twitch movements. Shows all the tools to stay in the middle of the field at the next level.
Michael Cooper, OF, Ridge Point HS, 2017
McLennan JC commit. 6-foot-5, 220-pound, wiry, long legs with athletic frame. The left-handed hitter shows a simple set-up with a quick load and smooth swing with barrel staying in the zone a long time. Very projectable hitter with high ceiling, long stride runner.
