No. 17 Thomas Worthington High School
Thomas Worthington has quietly positioned themselves as a top five program in the Central Ohio area. This year, Anthony Leahy and Chris Olson will see increased roles within the program as Coach Gussler continues his courageous battle with cancer.
On the field, the Cardinals are lead by one of area's top pitchers, senior Nick Pauley (WSU recruit), who has compiled a 17-2 record over his high school career. Although the team lost LHP Roscoe Blackburn (Marshall recruit) to graduation, there is still plenty of pitching depth within the program with unsigned LHP Sam Ankrom, LHP Tommy Hoerauf, RHP Jace Komminsk, and LHP Brady Roesch. Senior Kegan Lanter, who has been a middle of the order bat since his sophomore year, returns behind the plate while fellow senior Tommy Pischel will anchor the defense from the shortstop position.
This spring, the Cardinals are in a tough battle for a conference championship against the likes of Olentangy Liberty, Marysville, and Upper Arlington.
