Tuesday, July 25 marked the beginning of the 2023 Prep Baseball Report Junior Future Games, which is again being held in Emerson, Georgia at our LakePoint Sports Complex. For this event the various PBR staffs from around the country form teams from their region to compete in a tournament. Again this year, Team Mid-Atlantic will be represented by two 14U teams and a 13U team. Last year, 13U Team Mid-Atlantic won the Tournament Championship.
This year, the teams participated in a workout on Tuesday before the beginning of pool play on Wednesday. Each team is guaranteed four games, three in pool play and then one in bracket or consolation play, which begins on Saturday.
14U Mid-Atlantic 2 earned a spot in the Gold Bracket after going 2-1 in Pool play, while 14U Mid-Atlantic 1 was slotted into the Silver Bracket after a 1-2 Pool finish. 13U Mid-Atlantic also earned a spot in the Gold Bracket after posting a 2-1 Pool record.
14U Mid-Atlantic 1's first Bracket game was postponed to Sunday morning after a mid-day lightning delay paused games for over an hour. Here are recaps and highlights from Saturday's game action in Georgia:
