Inside the Recruitment: 2018 LHP Jamie Myers commits to Toledo

PBR: Why did you choose Toledo?
Myers: I chose Toledo because from the moment I stepped on campus my family and I were treated like family from the entire coaching staff, on top of the stellar facilities, beautiful campus, and most importantly the great academics.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Myers: Malone University, Seton Hill University, and Tiffin University.
PBR: Where did the Coach Mee first see you? How did your relationship develop with their coaching staff?
Myers: Actually Coach Bradford saw me at a showcase at Oberlin college and then after communicating for around a week I decided those were the guys I wanted to play for.
PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Myers: The coaches and I both expect for me to work hard in the offseason and get to where I can make an impact on the mound right off the bat.
PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that you will help Rocket baseball?
Myers: The ability to make in game adjustments and the ability to place the off speed when needed.
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?
Myers: The Lake Erie Warhawks for Coach Todd Mezlak. The most memorable experience was just spending the entire summer with my brothers.
PBR: Now that you have your commitment out of the way, what are your goals both individually and for the team this spring?
Myers: I am looking forward to getting back into the weight room and getting ready to step onto campus as ready as I can be in order to make an impact my Freshman year.
PBR: What were your stats for last spring?
Myers: 20 IP, 36 Ks, 6 BB, 4 Hits, 3 ER
PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced?
Myers: Definitely my good friend and teammate Evan Shawver
