July 7, 2016
Trevor Kuncl, SS, St. Xavier HS, Class of 2017
PBR: Why did you choose George Washington?
Kuncl: I chose George Washington because of the coaching staff and the school itself. With Coach Ritchie being a former MLB coach I feel like he has a unique skill that can help me develop to reach my goal of moving on to the next level
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Kuncl: Columbia, Dartmouth, Dayton, and Ohio
PBR: How much did playing down south play a part in your decision?
Kuncl: It wasn't necessarily a deciding factor for me but it is sure nice. Can't beat being able to play outside almost year round
PBR: How does it feel to be a part of a Division 1 baseball program?
Kuncl: It is awesome. It's what I've been working to achieve for as long as I remember and now that I've achieved it I can't wait to see what the future holds.
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?
Kuncl: I play for CBC Elite Black 17u and my most memorable experience this summer was playing 3 games in a row in 100+ degree weather and coming out as tournament champions.
PBR: What person has the greatest impact on your baseball career and why?
Kuncl: My dad. He has been teaching me how to play baseball before I can even remember and with him playing college baseball himself I've always wanted to do the same.
PBR: What were your stats last spring season?
Kuncl: .257 BA .329 OBP
PBR: Who is the best pitcher that you have ever faced?
Kuncl: Nick Bennett
