Inside the Recruitment: '17 RHP Trevor Pittman commits to Kent State

PBR: Why did you choose Kent State?
Pittman: I chose Kent State because of their great coaching staff and programs consistent success. Kent State felt like the best fit for me and my family,
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Pittman: I was considering Miami, Wright State, Morehead State, and Ohio State.
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you and how did your relationship develop?
Pittman: Coach Birkbeck saw me throw at our tournament near Kent a couple weeks ago at Walsh University. He called me later in the day and set up a visit so I could see campus and meet Coach Duncan.
PBR: Was the recruiting process what you expected?
Pittman: The recruiting process was a little different than I expected, it all happened so fast.
PBR: How does it feel to be a part of a Division 1 baseball program?
Pittman: It feels really good to be a part of a Division 1 baseball program, it has always been my dream and I can't thank everyone enough who helped me achieve my dream.
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?
Pittman: I played for the Dayton Sluggers 17u this summer and my most memorable experience was winning the PG Super 25 tournament at Grand Park.
PBR: What person has the great impact on your baseball career and why?
Pittman: My dad would definitely be the person with the greatest impact on my baseball career. He taught me the game of baseball and has been with me through the ups and downs. Without all of his help and support, I wouldn't be the pitcher I am.
PBR: What were your stats this spring season?
Pittman: 2-2, 1.70 ERA, 33.0 IP, 44 Ks, 0.70 WHIP
