Jackson Wolf, LHP, Gahanna Lincoln, Class of 2017

PBR: Why did you choose West Virginia?

Wolf: West Virginia is a great fit for me because the coach staff was very straight forward and down to earth. Many good players have come out of the program and been successful and I am hoping to follow in those footsteps.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Wolf: UC and Penn State

PBR: Where did the West Virginia coaches first see you?  How did your relationship develop with them?

Wolf: I attended a prospect camp on campus and I was invited back for a visit afterwards and my relationship with the coaches took off from that point on.

PBR:  West Virginia has built a new stadium.  How does it feel to know that you will be one of the first recruiting classes to play on the field?

Wolf: West Virginia's new stadium provides a great overlook of Morgantown and it seats quite a few people. The fan base for the baseball team is tremendous so I know there will be a great atmosphere at the new ballpark

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?

Wolf: I am one of the few left handed pitchers that will potentially be on the roster so I think that will give me a great chance at playing once I get on campus

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process?

Wolf: Coming into it, I didn't know what to expect but I learned that the recruiting process was very tough because before you make a decision you have to make sure the college is not only a place you want to play baseball but a place you would want to go to school as well.

PBR: What were your stats this spring season at Gahanna?

Wolf: 3-1 record in 8 games played. 25K's 8BB 1.86 ERA

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced in Ohio?

Wolf: I couldn't narrow it down to 1 guy but Luke Barber from St. Francis Desales has one of the best swings that I've seen. Also, Cael Baker from Gahanna Lincoln can put some power behind the ball. You cannot afford to miss a location when facing him.
