PBR: Why did you choose Lake Erie?

Potesta: I chose Lake Erie because I like the small campus and friendly atmosphere. In addition, the coaching staff being very welcoming and giving me a fair chance to play freshman year. 

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Potesta: I was also considering Findlay, Ohio Wesleyan, Thiel, and Grove City. 

PBR: Where did the coaches first see you? How did your relationship develop with their coaching staff?

Potesta: Coach McGee first saw me in a tournament game. We started off emailing and I got a good vibe from them. We continued to keep in touch through text or call a couple times a week. 

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?

Potesta: First, the coaches expect me to fulfill my academic obligations. On the ball field, they expect me to work my way into the lineup and be a threat in the batter’s box. 

PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that you will help Storm baseball?

Potesta: I feel my biggest strength on the field is my leadership skills along with being able to hit the ball in all directions.  I feel I can help the Storm baseball by being able to play multiple positions and being a leader even as a freshman. 

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?

Potesta:  In the summer I played for the Boys of Summer. During fall I played with the Lake Erie Warhawks. My most memorable experience was making it to the NABF World Series with the Boys of Summer. 

PBR: What were your stats for last spring season?

Potesta: 25 Hits. .430 BA. 25 RBI's. 10 Stolen Bases. 

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?

Potesta: The toughest pitcher I ever faced was during my freshman year and it was Sam Donko, in practice. He now attends VCU.
