Inside the Recruitment: '16 LHP Nathan Lohmeier commits to Kellogg CC
October 29, 2015
Nathan Lohmeier, LHP, Hartland, Class of 2016
PBR: Why did you choose Kellogg?
Lohmeier: The reason I chose Kellogg CC was for the opportunity to compete for big innings in my first year for a program that has a long standing tradition of winning, as well as Coach Laskovy's and Coach Walter's track record of developing their players, especially pitchers.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Lohmeier: I was also considering Hillsdale, Northwood, and Florence Darlington Tech CC.
PBR: Kellog is known for sending many of their players to 4 year colleges. How much of a role did that play in your decision to go to Kellogg?
Lohmeier: It played a huge role in my decision as I feel very confident that I will have opportunities to transfer to a 4 year college after my time at Kellogg.
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?
Lohmeier: They first heard of me through my summer coach Gregg Merians.
PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable moment.
Lohmeier: I play for the Livingston Hurricanes in the summer but I do not have a most memorable moment as I didn't play last summer due to a knee injury (ACL,MCL, Meniscus).
PBR: What were your stats this spring?
Lohmeier: My stats this spring were 27 innings pitched with an era of 1.29 (I missed one month with an arm injury and injured my knee in regionals which ended my season).
PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced?
Lohmeier: The toughest hitter I have faced would be Devin Hager of Walled Lake Northern.
