Cam Pope, LHP, New Lothrop, Class of 2016

PBR: Why did you choose Kellogg?

Pope: I chose Kellogg because the coaches made me feel at home and the baseball program has had great success in the past.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Pope: Northwood, Saginaw Valley State, and Jackson CC.

PBR: Kellog is known for sending many of their players to 4 year colleges.  How much of a role did that play in your decision to go to Kellogg?

Pope: It was a huge factor because I want to play at the next level and I feel they can get me where I want to go.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?

Pope: Through PBR videos and communications with summer coaches

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable moment.

Pope: I play for the CM Stars. My most memorable moment was pitching in California in the Palomino World Series.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process?

Pope: To find a place that would be a good fit for me and where I can play baseball and get an education.

PBR: What were your stats this spring?

Pope: 11-2, 1.304 ERA,  58 IP, 74K, 11BB

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced in Michigan

Pope: Josh Parks from Lansing Christian- played against him over the summer. He always seemed to barrel up a lot of pitches I threw him.
