PBR: Why did you choose Malone?
Mottice: Coach Crank, the coaching staff and the players at Malone exemplified the type of intensity and work ethic I want to experience in my college baseball career. Also, the academics are good at Malone.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Mottice: Presbyterian College, Miami University, Walsh University, Findlay University
PBR: Where did the coaches first see you compete and how did your relationship develop with the rest of the coaching staff?
Mottice: Coach Crank first saw me play in the regional finals last year. I went on campus and practiced with the team and got to meet and talk with the rest of the staff. They all shared a common mindset of determination and hard work; which I liked. Specifically, the pitching coach, Kyle Hallock, really impressed me when I talked to him with his will to win and excitement for the game. From the visit, I could tell this was the coaching staff I wanted to have and that the relationships would build further and stronger.
PBR: What role does the coaching staff expect you to play during your first year on campus?
Mottice: I will be expected to contribute to the team my first year on campus. I will compete for a role as the starting 2nd baseman.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most exciting experience playing summer ball?
Mottice: Mash Factory Elite. My most exciting experience was play having a round robin and winning all the games and having fun playing baseball and sharing laughs and memories with team.

Mottice: .310 BA, .965 fielding percentage, 11 Stolen bases
