July 30, 2015
Alex Millhisler, RHP, Nouvel Catholic Central, Class of 2015
PBR: Why did you choose SVSU?
Millhisler: Coach Ebright offered me a spot on the roster of a Division 2 baseball team at a quality university. That's hard to refuse.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Millhisler: I was originally verbally committed to play at Alma College. I was also considering Lourdes University and Flagler College.
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?
Millhisler: At a tournament that took place at Saginaw Valley State University and Alma College. Coach Ebright said he really liked my energy on the mound, and the ability to get out of a jam without losing my composure.
PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable moment.
Millhisler: I played for Michigan College Connect. My most memorable moment was when I was pitching in the tournament at SVSU. I threw a no-hitter in pool play on my future college field.
PBR: What team do you play for in the summer?
Millhisler: Michigan College Connect
PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process?
Millhisler: I really didn't know what to expect. It is not player friendly unfortunately. Going on campus visits is a great experience.
PBR: What were your stats last season?
Millhisler: In high school I pitched 47.67 innings, 11 runs scored against, 1.61 ERA, 62 strikeouts, 14 walks, with a 0.274 OBP against me.
PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced?
Millhisler: I have no idea. I have pitched against so many great hitters, but I'm one who doesn't really care who I'm pitching against. I just know that if I force each hitter to hit my pitches, that I can get them out.
