Indiana HS Player of the Week: Josh Adamczewski

The week seven player of the week honor goes to Josh Adamczewski (Lake Central HS). The Ball State recruit had a big week at the plate for the Lake Central Indians. The senior went 8 for 15 at the dish with 3 home runs, 14 runs batted in, 1 triple, 2 doubles, and 8 runs scored.

Josh Adamczewski, Lake Central, 2023, IN

Position: SS/3B

Body: 6-foot, 185-pound athletic build.

Hit: (LHH) Advanced. Began in an athletic open stance with a smooth load, then used a toe tap stride. Electric bat speed. Good extension on his finish, loose upward swing. Gap to gap approach. 

Power: 104 mph max exit velocity, average 87.7 mph.

Defense:  (IF) Soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchange. Solid. 

Arm: 87 mph infield velocity. Quick arm action, high ¾ slot. 

Speed: 7.12 (60-yard).

Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 6-foot, 170-pounds. Athletic, well-proportioned build.
Hit: LHH. Preloaded weight to the back leg, smooth, controlled load, short leg stride. Quick bat speed, short, uphill swing, gets extension after contact, gap-to-gap approach.
Power: 91.94 max exit velocity, averaged 86.74 mph. 347’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 81 mph. Short, loose arm action, high 3/4 slot, throws play with life.
Defense: Plays light on the balls of the feet, works to the baseball, natural hands, cleans exchange.
Run: 7.40 runner in the 60.

Lake Central High School, Class of 2023; 5-foot-11, 135-pound SS/C. At the plate, the left-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 75 mph. He starts slightly preloaded and uses a high elbow. He showed rhythm in his load and had a level swing plane.In the infield, his best throw was recorded at 72 mph across the field. His glove works well when in good position. Got to balls laterally and made accurate throws from a ¾ slot. He clocked a time of 7.81 in the 60-yard dash.
