WV Director of Scouting
The inaugural West Virginia Top Prospect Games are set to take place on August 9 and 10 at the newly renovated Kennedy Center Field in Huntington, West Virginia. Among the upgrades to the facility is a state of the art artificial turf infield playing surface that will allow Marshall University the opportunity to utilize the facility for home non-conference games and practices.
The event will showcase top prospects in the Class of 2015, 2016 and 2017 from around the state as well as prospects from surrounding states. Players will run the 60-yard dash, take live batting practice on the field, showcase defensive abilities in an extended infield session, and play two nine inning games over the two days. Prospects will be divided among six teams with three games being played each day.
The Top Prospect Games will be an annual event that will allow the top prospects in the region to showcase their talents for college coaches in a combined showcase and game setting. Last year's Pennsylvania Top Prospect Games drew 35 colleges to scout the event. The event took place in June at Bucknell University and has seen 16 prospects announce college commitments since its conclusion.
