IMG National defeats Poly Prep (NY) 12-3

Went over to IMG Academy yesterday to see Miguel Sime from Poly Prep Country Day in New York face off against a stout IMG National lineup. Jaewoo Cho got the start for IMG.�

The first inning was relatively clean for both pitchers. Cho worked a 1-2-3 top half, then Sime worked around a Tayshaun Walton double. Poly Prep threatened in the 2nd, back to back singles giving the Blue Devils 1st and 2nd with 1-out but Cho worked out of the jam. IMG got on the board in the 2nd on singles from Cade Ladehoff and Jackson LaLima, then Sean Gamble doubled to clear the bases and give the Ascenders a 3-0 lead.�

It wasn't long until the Blue Devils answered back with 3 runs of their own. Jack Roventini and Justice DeJong singled, followed by a Masai Marshall walk. Then with 2-outs, Malachi Costello doubled to clear the bases and even the score at 3-3 heading to the bottom of the 3rd.�

IMG immediately regained the lead after Stone Russell doubled and then later scored on a Josh Hanson sacrifice fly. The Ascenders would start to pull away in the 4th, adding 2 more runs, 1 on a Walton RBI single. Cho continued to cruise through the 4th and 5th innings. In the 5th IMG added 6 more runs on a single from Russell, a double from Ladehoff, and a triple from Walton.

Poly Prep looked as if they would mount a comeback in the 7th after a leadoff single from Charlie Plym, followed by a Dash Hort walk but Cho would get a strikeout and game ending double play to finish off his complete game.�
