IA Fall Review- Infielder Evaluations

The PBR IA Fall Review event took place on Sunday, October 29, 2017. The event was held at Sports Iowa in Ames, IA. The event featured prospects from the 2018-2021 classes who showcased their talents in front of our scouting staff and college coaches in attendance.

Today we highlight the infielders who performed at the end of the fall event.
The top infielder at this year's IA Fall Review event was 2019 Evan Paulus from Mason City Newman Catholic. Paulus is currently the #14 ranked prospect in the Iowa 2019 class. Paulus shows elite level bat speed and true power potential with an easy bat path, aggressive approach, and consistent produces loud contact off his barrel. College coaches should also keep an eye on up-and-coming 2020 Jack Young from Pleasant Valley. Young shows actions in the field, is solid mechanically at the plate, and has an above avg. arm producing 85 mph throws across the infield with carry and accuracy to the bag.

Shows sure hands in the field, solid mechanics, has accuracy to bag with avg. carry and velocity, 69 mph arm strength across infield.
Adam Brauch, SS/RHP, Dowling Catholic, 2020
6-foot, 160-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.16 runner. Spread stance with body and shoulder load, lift in swing plane, consistently barrels baseball, spray line drive and fly ball contact with mid/pull approach, 89 mph exit velocity. Sure hands with quick exchange, some stiffness to field, works through baseball, has accurate arm to bag, 78 mph arm strength across infield.
Logan Burg, SS, Cedar Rapids Prairie, 2019
6-foot, 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. #30 ranked player in IA 2019 class. Above avg. runner posting 6.6 60-yard dash. Body load, transfers weight through swing, pull approach, flashes hard line drive and fly ball contact, has sneaky pop in bat, 90 mph exit velocity. Works down to up, good momentum through baseball, has soft hands with appropriate footwork, throws are accurate to bag with carry, 82 mph arm strength across infield.

6-foot-2, 175-pound left-handed hitting first baseman. 8.08 runner. Tall stance, flat bat plane, tends to pull off at contact, 73 mph exit velocity. Avg. footwork, above avg. arm, sure hands, confident receiver around bag, 67 mph arm across infield.
Bryce Crabb, SS/RHP, Des Moines East, 2019
6-foot-3, 160-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.4 runner. Open stance with early rhythm, solid bat speed, barrel exit hitting zone early, pull approach, flashes hard contact, should make strides offensively with minor tweaks, 84 mph exit velocity. Shows range in the field, solid athlete, developing footwork, sure hands, accurate throws to bag, 77 mph arm strength across infield.

5-foot-10, 145-pound right-handed hitting second baseman. 7.25 runner. Narrow stance, leg kick trigger, rolling hand load, slight lift in swing plane, some length to contact, mid/away approach, fly ball and ground ball contact, 86 mph exit velocity.
