Holiday Showcase: Class of 2023 Analysis

The 2019 Holiday Showcase took place on December 28th at Keystone State Baseball Academy giving our staff an final look at 30 prospects from threes states before the curtain closes on 2019. Today we continue a series of articles analyzing the prospects in attendance with a look at those players that participated from the Class of 2023.

Class of 2023
Tyler Acevedo, M.S. 129 HS (NY), SS
5-foot-7, 125-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a knee-to-knee stride to initiate his swing. The young prospect displayed advanced barrel awareness with the ability to create some backspin. Hands work well through contact. Registered a bat exit velocity of 71 mph and ran a 7.74 60-yard dash. Showcased active feet while routinely playing through the baseball defensively. Displayed developing 71 mph arm strength across the diamond. Solid all around skill set will continue to develop with strength gains through physical maturity.
Will Cranford, Lancaster Catholic HS, OF/RHP
5-foot-8, 130-pound two-way prospect continues to show progress in his development. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Showcased a gap-to-gap, line drive approach with solid feel for the barrel. Registered a bat exit velocity of 75 mph and ran a 7.50 60-yard dash. Displayed athletic defensive actions while playing through the ball routinely. Registered 78 mph arm strength from the outfield with above average straight line carry.
