Hitters' Spring League: Weekend Roundup April 27-28

April 27

Gold 6, Orange 2
Ben DeGracie was a perfect 3-for-3 at the dish with a double and an RBI to lead the Gold.

Pete Koscinski added three RBI on two hits and a double. Koscinski also allowed just one hit over three innings of work on the mound.

Grey 12, Purple 6
Jack Bloomer and Josh Hermann both hit homeruns for Grey. Bloomer drove in three and Hermann two of the Grey runs.

Trevor Bednarek surrendered just three hits and one earned run over his five innings of work, striking out five.

Henry Davies added two hits, both of which were doubles in the losing effort for Purple.

Red 6, Royal Blue 4
Erik Nelson went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate for Red. Nelson has been making strides offensively and has been showing a more balanced approach.

Nick McLees had nine strikeouts in five innings of work. He surrendered five hits and allowed three earned runs.

Alex Kermendy had two hits for Royal Blue.

Purple 12, Black 6
Matthew Liewen had two hits including two doubles for Black. Jake Harley and Lucas Jorgensen each had two hits for Purple.

Royal Blue 1, Red 0
Jesse Sustachek went five solid innings allowing just one run and three hits for Red. Sustachek has shown good control and a sinking fastball to get hitters out.

Cannon Cooley and Reggie Rappis combined to pitch a shutout striking out 10 in the process.

Carolina Blue 3, Navy 2
Jonathan Keane led the way offensively for Carolina Blue. Keane went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Owen Miller and Drake Daniels combined for 15 strikeouts in just over eight innings pitched.

Orange 6, Forest Green 4
Jordan Grimm, Garrett Erfourth, Cullen Keiper, and Nick Egelhoff all pitched in two hits for Forest Green. Keiper also scored twice.

Connor Kimple went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Kimple has an advanced frame for a freshman and shows occasional pull side pop.

April 28

Navy 1, Carolina Blue 0
Hayden Krimmer struck out 10 in five innings for Navy. Krimmer allowed just two hits and did not allow a walk or a run. Krimmer has touched 90 mph this spring and has shown an athletic delivery with repeatability.

Josh Serio worked four innings of relief striking out four and allowing two hits. Serio has been showing the ability to maintain his 88 mph fastball for extended outings.

Evan Kruczynski struck out 13 in five innings of work. He allowed one run and one walk while surrendering three hits.

Gold 9, Royal Blue 1
Freshman Cyrillo Watson went 3-for-3 at the plate as well as tossing six strong innings on the mound. Watson had two doubles and drove in two RBI at the plate. On the mound he struck out seven allowing just one run.

Dominic Clementi and Be DeGracie both chipped in with two hits a piece for Gold.

Purple 6, Black 3
Jim Jarecki got a hit and two RBI to lead the Black offense. Brad Bautch added two RBI for Purple.

Orange 7, Forest Green 7
Jake Homan led the Forest Green offense with three hits and two RBI. Nick Egelhoff also added three hits.

Cameron Allen slugged two doubles for Orange, driving in two RBI and scoring two runs. Allen shows strength at the plate showing some pop to the middle of the field.

Connor Kimple pitched five innings allowing just one run and striking out two.

Red 8, Navy 2
Parker Sniatynski led the Red attack with two doubles and three RBI. Owen Miller also added two hits.

Jake Erfourth was one of the lone bright spots for the Navy offense, Erfourth had a 3-for-4 day while scoring a run.

Grey 5, Royal Blue 0
Bennet Serchen went 2-for-3 for Grey to lead the offense. Spencer Pierce added two hits for Royal Blue in the loss.

Red 9, Carolina Blue 8
Owen Miller and Doran Turchin had a field day at the plate. Both hitters collected three hits and drove in two runs. All three of Turchin’s hits were doubles.

Jonathan Stiever had two hits and two RBI for Red.

Gold 8, Grey 6
Ben DeGracie added three more hits to complete his big weekend. He had two doubles, an RBI and a run scored for Gold.

Nick Berry was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate driving in one for Grey.

More Wisconsin News
