It goes without saying that any high school baseball program would welcome a transfer who could make an immediate and significant impact. That may be a gross understatement when that player has the ability of RHP Weston Bizzle.
Rossville Christian Academy finds itself in the fortuitous position of adding Bizzle to their roster for this spring after he moved to Tennessee from Lynn Haven, Florida. The 5-foot-10, 195-pound sophomore righty, who committed to Vanderbilt during the summer, features a high-80s fastball that reportedly reaches into the low 90s. He complements the fastball with good command of his mid-70s breaking ball in showing the ability to consistently pound the strike zone.
As a freshman last year at Mosley HS, FL, Bizzle racked up an 8-1 record and a 0.50 ERA. In 69.1 innings of work, he allowed just 29 hits while recording 83 strikeouts. But what may be Bizzle’s most impressive stat line are the mere 15 walks he allowed in showing his obvious command of the strike zone.
With three years of high school baseball remaining, Bizzle will have plenty of time to make his impact felt at Rossville Christian Academy as he toes the rubber for the first time in Tennessee this spring.
