With the 2019 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting in January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2019 Spring Team Preview: Hicksville Aces

Team Name: Hicksville Aces
Head Coach: Tim Shock
Division: IV
2018 Record: 22-6
Conference Record: Green Meadows, 4-3 (3rd)
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 5/4

2019 Team Strengths:

  • Leadership
  • Speed
  • Pitching Depth

Coach Outlook: "Potential to be a really good team again after coming off a year in which we finished as State Runner-up. We have plenty of pitching depth but have to be more consistent throwing strikes. We return 5 starters from last year’s team, but may have some youth at key positions.  We need to continue to work hard and not get complacent. I feel we have a solid club returning and a good schedule to give us some early tests and prepare us for another tournament run."

PBR Outlook: Coach Shock and the Aces return five starters from the state runner-up in 2018. There is talent all throughout the roster, within each class. Look for the Aces to be one of the top teams in Division IV in 2019.
