With the 2019 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting in January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2019 Spring Team Preview: Hamilton Big Blue

Team Name: Hamilton Big Blue
Head Coach: Danny Reid
Division: I
2018 Record: 16-11
Conference Record: GMC, 12-6
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 4/1

2019 Team Strengths:

  • Infield Defense
  • Pop in Lineup

Coach Outlook: "We graduated 10 seniors. Six of which were pitchers. We will be extremely young across the board, but we are very excited to work with our young players and see what they can do."

PBR Outlook: The Big Blue and coach Danny Reid have some highly talented prospects, but lost 10 from the 2018 squad due to graduation, including six pitchers. Look for Hamilton to be competitive all year, improving throughout the season, and playing their best ball come tournament time.

Top Returning Players:

  • Kurtis Reid  SS, 2021 6'2" 180 started as a freshman, Louisville commit. Last year stats .410 9 2b, 3 3b, 1 HR, 22 RBIs, , 19 R, 14 SB
  • Payton Pennington 2B, 2019 5'10 175 3 year starter, UC commit.  .373, 4 2B, 3 3B, 8 RBIs, 10 SB, 27 R.
