Get to Know: Caden Dana
January 27, 2022
The "Get to Know" feature is our annual series on the top Seniors in the state. We take a deep dive into what makes them tick - their preparation for the spring, aspirations for college and beyond, and look at how they came about their commitment to their college in the first place.
Starting us off is the Kentucky recruit, RHP Caden Dana (Don Bosco Prep).
TJ: Tell us about the decision-making process for your commitment? How excited are you to play there?
Dana: Very excited. Kentucky had reached out to me fall of my sophomore year. They had a lot of interest in me early on and invited me to their camp in February. I checked out their facilities and met the coaching staff and some of the players. The best thing I saw that weekend was the signs on the walls in the locker room/ stadium were all about family. That really latched on to me because a good baseball team all starts with chemistry and playing together as a family. It hit me on the spot that Kentucky was the school for me.
TJ: If you were a baseball scout and just watched yourself play, what would that scouting report look like?
Dana: Very competitive, throws any pitch in any count, and challenges the hell out of hitters.
TJ: We are knee-deep into the off-season schedule. Tell us about your training, and spring preparation.
Dana: Everyday I wake up at 6:45, and go in a very hot sauna for about 20 minutes. I’m on a throwing program with [Eric] Cressey and everyday I’m working on something in preparation for this spring.
TJ: Name three goals for the upcoming season.
