Liam Bailey's complete game shutout and an offensive explosion with two outs in the sixth inning propelled Hurricane, 2nd in the most recent Metro News AA Power Rankings, over South Charleston. The junior right hander's final line showed six innings, two hits, seven strikeouts, three walks and zero runs allowed.
Senior Kentucky recruit Aaron Perry blasted a solo home run to center field to start the game. As it turned out that is all Bailey would need.
The Redskins added two more in the bottom of the third on a walk and two doubles. Junior Jacob Allen doubled to right field and Noah Short (pictured right) followed with a double to left.
Hurricane would hold the three run lead until the bottom of the sixth. The sixth inning started uneventfully as Junior Alex Jarrel, who had replaced starter Jeremy Graley to start the fifth, was able to strike out the first two hitters. Jarrel was then replaced and the Redskins proceeded to " go with two". Hurricane scored seven runs with two outs to end the game. There were a total of seven hits in the inning with the big blows being a double to left by Short and a triple to center field by Nathaniel Dunham.
