Through the first week of the season, the two teams have been offensive juggernauts, combing for ninety-five runs between the two squads.
Vianney comes into the contest with a record of 3-1, and ranked No. 2 in the state. The Griffins are led offensively by senior LF Petey Spradlin and his .538 batting average and six RBIs. Junior C Jack Klages has been swinging a hot bat with his .500 batting average and finding a way to get on base with a .647 On Base Percentage. 3B Matt Brown has also provided some power, with a .429 batting avergae, three doubles, one homerun, and three RBIs
On the mound, Vianney has a trio of starters in Tim Agne, Aaron Bossi, and Michael Dillon that have kept batters off balance, allowing a combined eight runs through four games.
Francis Howell North (4-1-1) is coming off a 10-0 big win yesterday, and have been putting up impressive offensive numbers. In their five games, they have scored fifty-eight runs.
Howell North’s offense is led by senior 1B/3B Braxton Martinez, OF Yoonjae Nam, and DH Tyler Ehlman. Other players to watch for Howell North are a pair of sophomores, C Dave Prost and OF Cale Laughlin, who compliment the top half of the batting order and have the potential to be standouts for the Howell Knights.
