The Prep Baseball Report Fox River Open at Judson University’s Hoffer Field in Elgin, IL will take place on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. The open showcase is geared towards all high school classes.

Last year’s event featured SS/C Brian Fuentes (Crystal Lake South, 2017) and C/OF Ryne Travis (Lockport, 2017) among others. The event was the coming out party for Fuentes, who earned an invitation to the Top Prospect Showcase days later and eventually the PBR ProCase. Fuentes, who later committed to Wabash Valley JC, just won the Class 4A state title as a member of Crystal Lake South. Travis impressed with his overall game and switch-hitting abilities at the plate. Travis later committed to Olney Central JC.

Another impressive performer from last year’s event was left-handed pitcher Ricky Monbrod (Marian Central Catholic, 2017). The 6-foot-1 southpaw flashed a quick arm and fastball up to 83 mph.

Looking at this year’s roster, there are currently over 40 uncommitted prospects registered from all high school classes.
