First Glimpse at the Class of 2015 Rankings
August 30, 2012
Today, we provide our first glimpse of Ohio's Class of 2015.
Yes, it is still early, but several players have begun to put their name on the radar of college baseball programs.
Canton South outfielder DJ Wilson sits atop the list. Wilson, a left-handed hitting and throwing prospect, is already drawing early comparison's to Austin Cousino, the 2012 SEC Freshman of the Year at the University of Kentucky and Dublin Coffman HS graduate. Equipped with plus speed, Wilson has been clocked anywhere between 6.7-6.8 in his 60 as well as 4.2-4.3 through the bag and 4.5 on the turn. Like Cousino, Wilson is already showing the ability to hit for both average and power. Next summer, Wilson will be playing for the Midwest Pelicans.
6-foot-5, 210-pound right-handed pitcher Sam Bordner is next on the list. After attending Liberty Union HS his freshman year, Bordner has made the decision to transfer to Bloom Carroll HS. This move will keep him on the sidelines during his sophomore year, but that won't keep the big righty off the recruiting boards. The long and lanky righty shows quick arm action through a high 3/4 arm slot with an 84-85 mph. Still learning how to use his body, Bordner shows plenty of projectability in the years to come. Next summer, Bordner will be playing for the Ohio Elite.
The remaining top ten is rounded out by Moeller infielder Josh Hollander; Walsh Jesuit right-handed pitcher Ryan Feltner; Dublin Scioto outfielder and right-handed pitcher Nick Conner; Northridge right-handed pitcher Brad Wilson; Dayton Christian outfielder Brandon Williams; Bellbrook switch hitting middle infielder Casey Demko; Olentangy Liberty left-handed hitting prospect Cam Comer; and Olentangy Orange right-handed pitcher Tyler Johnson.
