Fall Player Spotlights: Ethan Fritts
October 14, 2022
Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma is highlighted some of the top remaining uncommitted players in the 2023 class to a couple of the top 2025's. Today we take a look at 2023 RHP Ethan Fritts. Fritts was one of the more accomplished arms in the State last Spring for Edmond Memorial where he finished the season with a perfect 8-0 record and a miniscule .163 ERA. Fritts works the fastball in the mid 80's and shows feel for a low 70's breaking ball to help keep hitters off balance. Although the 6-foot-1 and 165-pound righty might not have the most overpowering stuff but he makes up for it with elite pitchability and understanding how to attack hitters doing so in each of his outings throughout the spring.

Scouting Report
Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 6-foot-1, 165-pounds. Lean and projectable build with room for added strength and size in the future.
Delivery: Worked exclusively out of the stretch position. Works to a high balance point with slight coil of the front hip and shoulder at the top of the delivery. Strong sink and push off the back foot into a slightly bent plant leg. Repeats mechanics and tempo well. Maintains strong control over the body throughout the delivery. Clean operation with consistent release point.
Arm: Action: ¾ arm slot with a clean arm action.
Pitch Profiles: Fastball worked 82-84 mph with very strong riding life through the zone and slight arm side run. Showed consistent shape and feel for spin on 70-73 mph curveball with tight action and late depth to the bottom of the zone. 77-80 mph changeup with fastball hand speed and strong arm side fading action. Changeup has makings of a plus pitch.
