FL Underclass Games Player Spotlight: 2019 RHP Matthew DeVarona

On June 7^th the PBR Florida Underclass Games will take place at the University of South Florida which will feature some of the top prospects from the 2019-2021 classes from throughout the state. Leading up to the event, we will highlight some of the prospects who will be in attendance through reports and video. Today we take a look at 2019 RHP Matthew DeVarona Windermere HS, FL.

Matthew DeVarona RHP / Windermere, FL / 2019

05/30/17- Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot-4, 195 pounds with a tall, projectable frame. Gets some extension out in front on his delivery, at times can fall off to the first base side on his landing. Worked mostly at 82-84 mph with his fastball along with a 70-72 mph curveball and a 76-77 mph changeup. Rebounded after a first inning where he gave up several hits to retire the side in order the following inning. Look to see a velocity jump as he continues to add to his frame.
