FL 2017 ProCase: 2018 Graduates Breakdown

The ProCase is intended to be an intimate event where we can get an extended look at some of the potential draft picks come next June. As we have highlighted a few that stood out on the day, this entire 2018 group is currently committed to Division I. Below, we take a looks at the 2018 graduates that were in attendance.

Cort Roedig RHP / Dr. Phillips, FL / 2018Georgia Tech commit. The extremely high-waisted, 6-foot-2, 200-pound right handed pitcher has a wiry frame, young face and plenty of room to fill out. He has a short, quick arm with some whip, with the fastball coming out of the hand extremely well at 88-91 mph. Featuring a clean, 3/4 arm action and slightly crossfired, everything worked well and as he continues to put on some weight he should make a big velocity jump. He worked the fastball down in the zone, with life, but tended to be too fine with the pitch at times. The slider showed a quality shape with potential at 78 mph while the changeup was probably the best offspeed offering of the day showing some sink at 80 mph. He is extremely long, loose and athletic with life on the fastball and projects to make a big jump with added strength and innings. |

Tyler Isenberg SS / RHP / Trinity Christian Academy, FL / 2018Arkansas recruit. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound SS/RHP has a strong, thick lower half. Defensively, he has soft, sure hands that work well out in front. He has average range, but more than enough arm to stay on the left side. Offensively, the right-handed hitter has a feel for the barrel with a gap-to-gap approach. He has some steepness in the swing which creates some swing and miss and his hard hit balls are mostly on the ground. As he levels the swing out it should result in gap-to-gap power. On the mound he is extremely intriguing. He had very limited innings during his high school season and there is a lot of natural feel and arm strength. There is some effort, but the arm is quick and the fastball ranged from 87-89 mph. He also featured a changeup at 80-81 mph and a slider that has a chance to be a plus pitch and generated a lot of swings and misses at 74-76 mph. |

Cameron Stewart RHP / Apopka, FL / 2018Rankings State Rank:75 POS:22
Troy recruit. 6-foot-4, 200-pounds, he is a big, strong kid on a frame that can continue to lean out and add strength. The velocity of the fastball was down a bit at 85-86 mph, but the arm works clean and as he learns to get consistent leg drive and extension he should see the velocity jump and stay there. He works He showed a curveball at 73-74 mph with a two-plane shape, but he tended to get around the ball at times. He also showed a feel for a 79-80 mph changeup. Overall there is a lot to like with the arm action and frame. He will continue to improve with innings and strength and has a lot of upside. |

Andres Antonini SS / 2B / St Thomas Aquinas, FL / 2018Pittsburgh recruit. A long, lean 6-foot-2, 190-pound shortstop looks to have put on about ten pounds since January. He shows shows easy actions at short and is a near plus defender. He has a quick first step, but covers a lot of ground with long easy stride. He shows an above average arm from all angles. He stays under control with soft hands and should stay at short going forward. Offensively, the switch hitter shows a bit more consistent, short swing from the left side. He has a feel for the barrel from both sides of the plate, with power potential. Overall, a a 2018 draft follow. |

Stephen Wilmer OF / LHP / Riverview (Sarasota), FL / 2018Rankings State Rank:72 POS:16
ECU recruit. The stock two-way player is all around a solid player and has performed on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he is a switch hitter with a similar wide setup from both sides. He has a gap-to-gap approach with feel for the barrel and slightly more power from the left side. This translates into games where on the day he consistently squared the ball up. On the mound the lefty throws strikes from a short slot working mostly 86-87 mph with a fastball, 70-71 with a curveball and 76-79 with the changeup. He throws strikes and competes in the zone. Overall he continues to improve on both sides and will excel at ECU.

Brendan Bell RHP / 3B / Park Vista Community , FL / 2018FGCU recruit. Bell has a high waist and long arms. He has made a jump in velocity this spring and was 88-90 touching 91 on the day. He tended to rush down the mound and loose his front side, leading to an inconsistent release point which led to trouble throwing strikes. He also flashed a near plus slider at times when he got extension at 80-81 mph. He will log a good amount of innings this summer and as he learns to gather over the runner, stay strong with his front side and get consistent extension he should see an increase in both command and velocity.
