Mattei is a 5-foot-8, 145-pound OF/RHP who used a high 3/4 delivery to produced an 11/5 breaking curveball at 62 mph and a 72 mph changeup that he kept down in the zone. Mattei sat 75-77 with his fastball with good rhythm to his delivery. He commanded all three pitches and did not lose velocity out of the stretch. With continued physical growth Mattei should see additional velocity over time.

Shultz is a 5-10, 185-pound RHP/3B who has a solid frame and an understanding of how to pitch. He topped out at 72 mph from a high 3/4 arm slot during his bullpen session. Shultz also showed a 59 mph 11/5 breaking curveball with tight rotation and a 62 mph changeup at near fastball arm speed. The broad shouldered freshman has the potential to add significant velocity and his changeup has the makings of a plus pitch.
