FREMONT, CALIF. - We were at Ohlone College for the East Bay Preseason ID for the first time on Sunday January 16. Nearly half the players in the showcase were in the 2024 class, with some 2023s in attendance who are presently in our 2023 ranking. The event was a straight showcase with a 60, BP, defensive workout and scripted pitching session for the pitchers. TrackMan was active during BP and for the pitching session, while Blast Motion was also active for the hitting session.

Nikhil Beasley C / 1B / Berkeley, CA / 20236-foot-3, 170-pounds, R/R - Long and lean, frame for significant future size and strength gains which serve him well, adding to the 92 mph max EV and 73 mph max throw from behind the plate. Had consistent pops, 2.07, 2.12, 2.13 his best three. 7.47 60-time will likely improve as well. 69.3 max bat speed. |
Tanner Bradley OF / RHP / Cardinal Newman, CA / 20246-foot-0, 155-pounds, R/R - Top two-way talent at the event and an early emerger in the 2024 class as a two-way talent. Lithe and wiry strong, up to 86 mph in OF with consistent release, loose fast powerful arm. 92 mph max EV, 70.8 on-plane efficiency. Lively FB 83-85, late explosive arm side action, clean arm, athletic delivery, feel of snappy slider/CB hybrid, CHG flashed as well-above avg. |
Ethan Jackson C / 3B / Amador Valley, CA / 20236-foot-1, 200-pounds, R/R - Physical body, visible muscularity thoughout, sturdy and powerful. Combines both arm talent and power potential that highlights catcher prospects. 97 mph max EV, 23 max hand speed, 91.6 avg EV, 75% hard hit, 72.2 max bat speed. 77 mph max throw, pops 2.07, 2.12, 2.15. |
Isaiah Landry OF / 2B / Clayton Valley Charter, CA / 2023Rankings StateRank: 69 / POS: 12
5-foot-9, 155-pounds, R/R - A player we consistently see showing usable high end talent, both in showcase form and games. Strong and chiseled, explosive, ran 6.77, EV maxed at 93.3 with numerous balls leaving the yard with backspin carry, 85 mph OF throw, gets it out quickly. 70.5 max bat speed, 87.5 sweet spot %. |
Nick Parker SS / 2B / Arcata, CA / 20225-foot-11, 170-pounds, R/R - Average athletic body type, well-rounded talent with talents and fundamentals to continue to develop at the college level. Clean fielding mechanics, solid 81 mph arm, 91.4 max EV in BP with a very impressive 76.6 mph max bat speed. Power should continue to emerge with strength gains. |

6-foot-2, 200-pounds, R/R - Physical and muscular with proportionality, the raw tools are present to suggest a two-way contributor at the college level. The power potential is clear, with 96 mph EV, 62.5% line drives, 50% hard hit, 74.1 max bat speed w/82% on-plane efficiency. 77 mph catcher throw, consistent pops with ey-catching times 1.89, 1.93, 1.95, 1.97. 86 mph throw from 3B. |
Jack Schlicher 1B / California, CA / 20245-foot-11, 208-pounds, R/R - The hit tools and power potential for the stoutly built RHH were eye-catching. 96.5 max EV, w/88.3 avg EV, strong hard hit % ratings and digging deeper it's the 78.9 max bat speed (73.4 avg) and the 29.4 max rotational acceleration (21.8 avg) which are the biggest indicators of power. |
Kayden Shaw SS / 2B / Kennedy (Fremont), CA / 20246-foot-2, 175-pounds, S/R - Projection is the name of the game for the long and lean switch-hitting SS. Expect to see the 7.36 60 time (we've seen as low as 7.14) improve in the coming years, same with the 75 mph SS arm. It's the ability as a switch-hitter, with the LHH stroke having a high ceiling. 23.4 max hand speed, 84.6 sweet spot %, 61.5 line drive %. Plays with energy, confidence, and joy. |
Manny Selles OF / LHP / Berkeley, CA / 20246-foot-0, 180-pounds, L/L - Second highlighted player from Berkeley HS, strong broad build, flashed arm in OF that will get over 80 mph (77 mph top throw). Hit tools were impressive & consistency was outstanding. 97.1 max EV, 91.2 avg EV is big time, 71.4% hard hit w/72.7 max bat speed. 72.5% on-plane efficiency. |
Riley Winchell C / 3B / Granada, CA / 20246-foot-0, 185-pounds, R/R - Tools place the physical young catcher among the top we've seen in the 2024 class. Run tool impressive for the position (7.27), arm talent at 78 mph, with a consistent pop display of 2.08, 2.11, 2.11 as his best times. Add in the 92 mph EV, 62.5% sweet spot & 50% line drives. |
