FREMONT, CALIF. - As an open event, this was conducted as a straight traditional showcase, 60 yard run, BP round (with Blast Motion sensors and TrackMan utilized for gathering of various data and metrics), defensive workouts, and pitchers ending the day on the mound throwing 15-20 pitch sessions.

Riley Winchell, Granada (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: C/3B
Physical: 6-0, 185-pounds; Broad shouldered, muscular build. 7.27 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with a gliding stride for timing. Drifts into contact while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with two handed finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman. Physical young hitter, displayed timing and ability to consistently drive the ball with power and do so without over-swinging.
Defensively: Starts with a compact setup; utilizing a one knee approach while staying low during receiving. Hands are soft while staying low during transfer. Short take back from a standard 3/4 arm slot. 2.08-2.13 pop times. C - 78 MPH. Strong arm, powerful legs, throws to the bag either on a line or on a long hop, showed ability to receive on either knee and get thumb under ball.

Aidan Sakai, Hillsdale (CA), 2023
Positional Profile: C/3B
Physical: 6-2, 200-pounds; Muscular, proportional build. 7.28 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; flat bat to start. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a flat swing path with two handed finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 96 MPH via Trackman. Strength and physicality show up over and over, high level barrel awareness and ability to maximize hard contact, stays on plane, all field power.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; utilizing a traditional receiving set-up while slightly elevated in receiving set-up. Hands soft and strong while standing up slightly early during transfer. Short take back from a high 3/4 arm slot. 1.89-1.97 pop times. C - 77 MPH. INF - 86 MPH. Arm plays both behind the plate and at 3B, physical thrower, sets up with left foot slightly ahead of right when receiving, quiet receiving actions, gets rid of ball quickly while getting to max arm strength.

Ethan Jackson, Amador Valley (CA), 2023
Positional Profile: C/3B
Physical: 6-1, 200-pounds; Broad shouldered, sturdy build. 8.03 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; relaxed to upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with a gliding stride for timing. Drifts into contact while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a direct swing path with two handed finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 97 MPH via Trackman. Compact with access to strength and power, consistently high EV readings over 90 mph, strong barrel awareness, powerful stroke.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; utilizing a one knee approach while staying low during receiving. Hands soft and strong while standing up slightly early during transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. 2.07-2.14 pop times. C - 77 MPH. Bit of a high set-up to get off the pops with squared feet, showed agility in multiple one knee set-ups while working cleanly below the ball, strong arm with some tailing action on throws.

Nikhil Beasley, Berkeley (CA), 2023
Positional Profile: C/1B
Physical: 6-3, 170-pounds; Long, lanky build. 7.47 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; upright bat position. Loads straight back with an up and down stride for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a flat swing path with two handed finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman. Fairly compact given his long levers, has bat control, quiet in box, chance to develop some pop as he physically matures, swings were consistent
Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; utilizing a one knee approach while staying low during receiving. Hands are soft while standing up slightly early during transfer. Short take back from a high 3/4 arm slot. 2.07-2.16 pop times. C - 73 MPH. Displayed flexible agility, gets ball out quickly with clean transfer mechanic, feet are light, has feel and confidence behind the plate.

Gabriel Carrillo, Jr., Oakmont (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: C/3B
Physical: 5-9, 220-pounds; Full, sturdy build. 7.99 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; flat bat to start. Short take back with the hands with a moderate leg kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with two handed finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 89 MPH via Trackman. Displayed loft carry type power potential, stayed on plane consistently, hand speed is a positive attribute, consistently executes his approach.
Defensively: Starts with a compact setup; utilizing both traditional and one-knee positions while staying low during receiving. Hands are soft while staying low during transfer. Short take back from a high 3/4 arm slot. 2.14-2.25 pop times. C - 71 MPH. Comfortable receiving in and out of zone, pulls head aside to get higher arm stroke through.

Konnor Rodnick, Cardinal Newman (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: C
Physical: 6-0, 180-pounds; Long, broad shouldered build. 7.99 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; flat bat to start. Extended take back of the hands with a gliding stride for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a slight lift to the ball with two handed finish. More groundballs than line drives and flyballs with a peak exit velocity of 89 MPH via Trackman. Generally more flat with gap approach than fly ball stroke but can recognize his pitch to lift and launch, heavy hands with strength vs big raw hand/bat speed, consistently on-plane.
Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; utilizing both traditional and one-knee positions while staying low during receiving. Hands soft and strong while staying low during transfer. Short take back from a standard 3/4 arm slot. 2.19-2.26 pop times. C - 70 MPH. Big attractive target for a pitcher, presents as a steady calm and confident receiver, glove hand seems to swallow up the pitch firmly and softly with strength.

Mateo Hague, De La Salle (CA), 2024
Positional Profile: C
Physical: 5-11, 185-pounds; Average, sturdy build. 8.57 runner in the 60.
Offensively: LHH. Open setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with a moderate leg kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a flat swing path with two handed finish. More fly balls than line drives and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 86 MPH via Trackman. Able to occasionally create backspin, fairly short stroke, consistent manner of contact is something to improve, showed ability to stay on plane, contact/spray oriented approach.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; utilizing a one knee approach while slightly elevated in receiving set-up. Hands are soft while standing up slightly early during transfer. Short take back from a standard 3/4 arm slot. 2.19-2.32 pop times. C - 69 MPH. Showed ability to be accurate to the bag even if occasional one-hop throw, showed receiving glove skills with sticking/curling/working under the ball.

Joseph Dutra, Washington (Fremont, CA), 2025
Positional Profile: C
Physical: 5-10, 145-pounds; Average, lean build. 8.33 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Extended take back of the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Drifts into contact while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a flat swing path with a high finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 77 MPH via Trackman. Found sweet spot 62.5% of his swings, equal fly ball and ground ball % (37.5) indicating aggressive focus on usage of top hand, showed ability to stay consistently on-plane within his approach.
Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; utilizing a traditional primary position while staying low during receiving. Hands are soft while staying low during transfer. Moderate arm circle from a high 3/4 arm slot. 2.26-2.36 pop times. C - 68 MPH. Stays below ball, has agility, works body into comfortable positions to receive as ball is approaching, takes feet into the RH box during transfer to throw which adds time to his pops.
