Draft League Spotlight: Chris Wall
March 31, 2021
Player: Chris Wall
Position: LHP
School: Columbia College
The 6-5 lefty out of Columbia College has gotten off to a hot start this year. With a compact arm action coming out of the ¾ slot, Wall attacks hitters with a 90-93 mph fastball to go along with a 82-83 mph slider. Wall has been a dominant presence on the mound at Columbia for multiple years. In 2020, six out of six starts went at least 5 IP, 4 or less hits, and 10 or more strikeouts. Total, Wall threw up 69Ks in 33.1 IP with only 5 ER total: good for a 64.4 K% and a 1.35 ERA. 2021 seems to be no different for Wall, 1.16 ERA in 31.0 IP with 56 Ks. In his most recent start (3/26), Wall threw up a 16K no-hitter capped off by a painted fastball to seal it.
