Matthew Dillard had 11 strikeouts and the Middletown Knight offense put up eight runs on ten hits to claim their first State Championship in school history with an 8-0 victory over Fallston..

It looked to be a low scoring affair as both starters, Dillard for Middletown, and Bryce Logan for Fallston were dialed in early as we headed to bottom of the third with no score. Middletown was finally able to get to the Fallston lefty, scoring three runs off of five hits in the inning. Jacob House knocked in two runs in the inning on a single through the right side of the infield to get their first two runs on the board. Robbie Houck would then knock in Luke Pryor on a single up the middle to make the score 3-0.

Middletown would tack on two more runs in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 5-0. Houck had another RBI during the inning with a sacrifice fly. The Knights then had three runs cross in the sixth inning, highlighted by a 2-RBI single from Andrew Wenner.

Dillard had quite the dominant performance for Middletown on the mound as the junior righty went the distance in the game, scattering five hits in the contest while only walking one with his 11 strikeout performance. Dillard cruised throughout the game, only having one inning where he faced more than four hitters (five in the third).

Wenner, House, and Houck led Middletown  offensively, each having two hits in the contest with two RBI. Ryan Woelkers was 2-for-2at the plate and Nick Madden was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Everett Cox and Brady Logan led the Fallston offense, both going 2-for-3.
