Player of the Week
Andrew Glass C / 1B / Barbe, LA / 2022Rankings StateRank: 14 / POS: 2
A Tulane University signee; Glass has been a staple in the middle of Sam Houston's order for the past couple of years, and delivered a big week for the Broncos. Glass hit .333 for the week with two home runs, one double, four runs scored, eight runs batted in, and four stolen bases. After losing to rival Barbe High School, on Wednesday, Glass came through big for the Broncos on Thursday in their 19-1 win against the Bucs, as he hit two home runs, with one being a grand slam. |
Pitcher of the Week
Jimmie Johnson RHP / 3B / Central, LA / 2022Rankings StateRank: 11 / POS: 1
Johnson has been the go-to guy for Central BR HS, since his sophomore year and is having a great senior year up to this point. Against a talented Glenbrook HS lineup, the Southeastern Louisiana signee tossed a complete game, two hitter against the Apaches with one walk and twelve strikeouts. |

The Northwest Florida State College signee had a nice week for the Eagles. For the week, Broussard had a .417 average with one homerun, one double, one triple, seven runs scored, two runs batted in, and four walks. |
Matthew Keller SS / 2B / Zachary, LA / 2023Rankings StateRank: 38 / POS: 11
An uncommitted shortstop for the Broncos; Keller was a sparkplug for Zachary last week. He hit .353 for the week with one homerun and one triple. |
Caleb Chauvin RHP / Vandebilt Catholic, LA / 2022The senior right-handed pitcher came up big on the mound for Vandebilt Catholic last week. On Monday, against Rummel HS, he tossed his first complete game shutout. Then, on Saturday, against Ellender HS, he tossed his second complete game shutout. For the week, Chauvin threw fourteen innings and gave up no runs and seven hits, with two walks and fourteen strikeouts. |
Cabet Blanchard LHP / OF / Carencro, LA / 2022A two-way prospect for the Bears; Blanchard performed both offensively and on the mound for Carencro last week. He recorded one win after throwing six innings, giving up one earned run, while striking out three and walking one. At the plate, he went 6-8 for the week, with three runs scored, two runs batted in, and two walks. |
Joey Lacombe 1B / 3B / Carencro, LA / 2022Lacombe provided the Bears with some much needed power last week. The corner infielder went 4-8 on the week with one homerun, six runs scored, and four runs batted in. |
Kade Anderson LHP / OF / St. Paul's, LA / 2023The Louisiana State University commit and the state's top ranked player in the 2023 class has done it all for the Wolves this spring and turned in another brilliant performance on the mound in Week 5. Anderson tossed a complete game one-hitter against Hammond HS, with fifteen strikeouts and zero walks.
