District Tournaments continued around the state yesterday. Here is a look at some of the scores and highlights.
McCracken Co 11, Paducah Tilghman 3
Cameron Langston had a huge night going 4-for-4 with a triple and 5 RBI, Reece Carter went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI, James Dodd had 2 hits, and Kiael Walden drove in 2 runs. Caleb Reinhardt worked 4 innings to record the win.
St. Xavier 3, Male 2
Cameron Scheler went 2-for-3 with a double, Sam Hedges went 2-for-3, and Zeke Porta added a double in the win. Sam Mudd pitched a scoreless inning of relief for the win.
Lafayette 4, Tates Creek 1
Gavin Hall went 2-for-3 with a RBI, Josh Halterman added 2 hits, and John Stinetorf doubled and drove in a run. Brady Bowling allowed just 2 hits over 5 innings to pitck up the win.
Franklin Simpson 9, Logan Co 0
Jackson Caudill went 2-for-4 with a HR and 3 RBI, Rylan Thomas went 2-for-3 with a HR and 2 RBI, Jordan Jones doubled and drove in 2 runs, and Quentin Kitchens doubled and drove in 2 runs. Thomas also threw a complete game shutout with 6 strikeouts.
South Oldham 2, Oldham Co 1
Tanner Johnson tripled and drove in a run, and Brennen LaBarbera doubled in the victory. Will Moriarty allowed three hits and one run over 7 innings with 9 strikeouts for the win.
Warren East 12, South Warren 1
Ryan Hawks doubled, homered, and drove in 4 runs, Chauncey Greer went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI, and Austin Hymer doubled and drove in 2 runs. Davion Downey pitched a 5-inning one-hitter with 8 strikeouts.
PRP 6, Holy Cross 2
Jarett Troklus went 3-for-4 with a HR and 2 RBI, Dalton Smith went 3-for-3, and Reed Blaszczyk added 2 hits in the victory. Dallas Glass pitched 3 innings with 2 strikeouts for the win.
DuPont Manual 11, Central 9
Aaron Sary went 2-for-4 with a triple and RBI, Riley Noe went 2-forr-3 with a double and RBI, and Joey Minatel went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI. Noe picked up the win with 6 strikeouts in 2.1 innings on the mound.
Green wood 2, Bowling Green 0
Connor Cline doubled, and Tyler Cook drove in a run. Nate Cunningham pitched a complete game, four-hit shutout with 8 strikeouts for the win.
Corbin 5, South Laurel 4
Chase Estep went 2-for-3 with a HR and 4 RBI, and Cole Brock added 2 hits in the victory. Braden Dickerson picked up the win with 3 scoreless innings of relief.
Russell Co 5, Cumberland Co 2
Lucas Bault homered and drove in 3 runs, and Jackson Best picked up the win with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief of starter Henry Bertram.
Rockcastle Co 7, Somerset 6
Brent Lovell went 3-for-4 with a HR and 3 RBI, and Anthony Houk drove in 3 runs in the nine-inning win. John Cornelius picked up the win with 2 innings of relief.
Meade Co 5, Breckinridge Co 0
Colten Nevitt went 2-for-3, and Mason Lee drove in 2 runs in the victory. Will Brian fired a complete game shutout with 10 strikeouts.
Apollo 11, Owensboro 0
Brennen Krahwinkel went 2-for-3 with a triple and 3 RBI, Zach Greer went 2-for-2 with a double and RBI, and Zach Hopewell went 2-for-3 with a RBI. Krahwinkel also pitched a five-inning one hitter with 5 strikeouts.
Eastern 8, CAL 1
Andrew Baete and CJ Kenworthy each went 2-for-2, Blake Sutton went 2-for-4 with a triple and RBI, and Kyle Nunn homered and drove in 2 runs. Gavin Sullivan allowed just one hit with 11 strikeouts over 5 innings to pick up the win.
Southwestern 5, Wayne Co 2
Jonathan Gallagher had a double and Hunter Cromer drove in 2 runs in the victory. Brandon Pruitt pitched a complete game with 16 strikeouts to record the win.
Central Hardin 3, North Hardin 1
Isaac Peters homered and drove in 2 runs, and Dillon Bland added a double. Brendan Grider worked 6 strong innings with 5 strikeouts for the win.
Rowan Co 9, Bath Co 2
Cory Binion went 4-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI, Matthew Gagliano went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI, Khi Adkins doubled and drove in 2 runs, AJ Hacker added 2 hits, and Shane Taylor homered. Hacker pitched a complete game with 13 strikeouts for the win.
