Here is a look at some of the scores from around the state on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.


Davidson Academy 16, Smiths Station (AL) 5
Nick Cummings popped 2 home runs and DeShaun Jackson added another to lift the Bears to a win on Tuesday morning.  Cummings finished 2-4 with 6 RBI and 2 runs scored and Jackson finished 3-5 with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. Austin Ford, Ethan Tressler, and James Flynn each added 3 hits, as well.  

Brentwood Academy 12, Arab (AL) 8
The Brentwood Academy offense came alive on Tuesday morning.  Alex Reynolds helped lead the charge, finishing 2-2 with a double, a triple, 2 runs scored, and 4 RBI, while Bryce Jarvis and Jack Victory each added 3 hits of their own.  Connor Woodlee drove in 2 runs.

Brentwood Academy 7, Montgomery Academy (AL) 3
The Eagles' offense stayed hot in the second game of their double-header, as Jack Victory, Easton Cline, and Bryce Jarvis combined to finish 8-11 with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored.  Alex Reynolds got the W on the mound and Beau Brown recorded the save.

Goodpasture Christian 8, Jonesboro (AR) 2
Zachary Wallace dominated the game for the Cougars, dealing 6 innings of shutout baseball and striking out 7.  Wallace only allowed 3 hits and 2 walks and finished 2-4 with an RBI of his own at the plate. Cole Carter finished 3-4 and Gage Gregory added a double, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. 

Independence 3, Centennial 2
The Eagles scored 2 runs in the top of the 7th with a Preston Hines HBP and a Dillan Saunders RBI groundout to overcome the Cougars on Tuesday afternoon.  Caleb Reed finished 3-3 for Independence and added an RBI and a run of his own. Taylor Massey got the W on the mound, tossing the final 1.2 innings without giving up a run.

Karns 1, Oak Ridge 0
The Beavers needed a strong pitching performance from Trevor Adams on Tuesday evening and they certainly received it.  Adams tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing only 1 hit in 7 innings of work while striking out 8.  Jared Culp and Alex Hames had the only hits for Karns, each finishing 2-3. 

CAK 1, Webb 0
Spencer Strider maintained his dominant form on Tuesday evening, throwing a complete-game shutout and recording 18 strikeouts in the process.  Strider allowed only 1 hit and 2 walks in his 7 innings of work and was 94-96 for most of the game.  Hudson Chastain and Connor Quinn had the only hits for the Warriors and Quinn scored the only run.

Farragut 10, Lenoir City 3 
Chandler Chambers (2-3, 2 RBI, 2 runs) and Justen Freeman (2-3 1 RBI, 1 run) led the Admirals' offense to another victory on Tuesday evening.  Jake Hagenow, Cade Burkey, and Ashton King each added 2 RBI of their own and Drew Patterson tallied the W on the mound.

Covington 11, Strayhorn (MS) 0
Christian Delashmit put together another outstanding performance on the mound for the Chargers on Tuesday night, tossing all 5 innings and allowing only 2 hits and 1 walk.  Delashmit struck out 9.  Austin Baskin provided almost half of the offense, finishing 2-2 with a double, 2 RBI, and 3 runs scored.  Brennan McClain also had 2 hits.

Beech 3, Fairhope (AL) 0
Dalton Hall tossed the first 6 innings of the game for the Buccaneers, allowing only 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 8.  Matt Riley came on in relief to get the W, after allowing the offense another inning to get on the board. Ty Sutley had a huge 2-RBI triple in the 8th and scored on a wild pitch to take the lead for good.

Elizabethton 9, Sullivan North 2
Michael Robinson, Logan Estep, and Matthew Daily combined to go 5-10 with 6 RBI and 4 runs scored in Tuesday evening's Cyclone victory.  Evan Carter, Ryan Wetzel, and Evan Perkins each added 2 hits, as well.  Brodie Adams recorded the W on the mound by striking out 9 in 5 innings, while Tre Shoun earned the save.

Tennessee 10, Volunteer 0
Gavin Cross dominated the game for the Vikings, tossing a complete-game shutout with 12 strikeouts, while only allowing 3 hits and 1 walk in his 5 innings of work.  Cross also finished 2-4 at the plate with a double, 1 RBI, and 1 run.  Nick Wishon, Colby Fields, and Nick Dobbins combined to go 5-9 with 6 RBI and 4 runs scored.
