It was a rain-shortened schedule across The Commonwealth last evening as the weather continues to wreak havoc with the schedule this week. Here is a look at scores and highlights from the games that managed to get played.
Madison Central 8, #7 Lexington Catholic 7
Madison Central improved to 20-6 on the season.
#8 PRP 19, Valley 0
Steven Husband went 2-for-3 with a HR and 3 RBI, and Dalton Miler picked up the win.
LCA 5, #9 Paul Laurence Dunbar 1
Dima Ballard went 2-for-4 with a double and drove in a run, and Connor Milslagle scattered 6 hits in going the distance for the complete-game win.
Fairdale 10, Beth Haven 0
Bryce Higdon went 2-for-3 with a triple and 3 RBI, and Nolan Cook added 2 hits and drove in a run in the win. Cook also fired a complete game (5 innings), one-hit shutout with 11 K’s.
Knox Central 14, Barbourville 1
Jaxon Stewart went 2-for-3 with a triple and scored 3 runs, Hunter McRight went 3-for-4 with a RBI, Jacob Nelson went 2-for-3 with a triple and 3 RBI, and Brayden Imel doubled and drove in 2 runs in the Knox Central victory. Chad Marsee allowed 1 earned run and struck out 6 in 4 innings of work to pick up the win.
Franklin County 9, Frankfort 0
Dawson Willis went 4-for-4, Blake Redmon went 2-for-4 and scored 2 runs, and Alden Gatewood drove in 2 runs as Franklin County shutout Frankfort. Tanner Walker pitched 3 hitless innings to record the win.
