No. 1 Mount Carmel 3, Loyola 2
Connor Spear pitched a three-hitter and the Caravan made up for the two unearned runs Loyola scored in the first inning with two in the sixth and Jeremy Houston’s game-winning sacrifice fly in the seventh. Spear struck out seven and walked one. Kevin Knapp went the distance for Loyola.
No. 4 O’Fallon 7, No. 25 Alton 0
Bradley Harrison pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and one walk for O’Fallon. Josh Gibson and Bradley Snyder had two hits apiece in the victory.
No. 5 St. Charles North 4, Geneva 1
Tyler Mettetal allowed one hit while striking out six in 4 ⅔ innings and Tim Hasto did the rest for the save. John Legare singled, walked twice and scored two runs for the North Stars.
No. 6 St. Laurence 2, No. 8 Providence 0
Anthony Robles pitched a three-hitter and Matt McCormick’s unearned run in the top of the first gave the Vikings the lead for good. Jimmy Burnette added an RBI double in the fourth. Robles struck out seven and walked four.
No. 7 Plainfield North 6, Oswego East 1
Tyler Garrity’s grand slam powered Plainfield North. Brady Corrigan pitched a complete game, allowing five hits and striking out six. Brandon Knox and Alex Steinbach had two hits apiece.
No. 10 Edwardsville 7, Collinsville 2
Trey Riley went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBI and Kade Burns hit a home run for Edwardsville.
No. 11 Lincoln-Way North 4, Lincoln-Way Central 2
Nick Figus went 3-for-3 and scored two runs for the Phoenix. Jake McLaughlin pitched six solid innings for the win, allowing one earned run on six hits.
No. 12 Normal Community 14, Richwoods 7
Addison Fugit went 4-for-4 with a home run, a triple, four runs and two RBI for the Ironmen. Nolan Arjona drove in four and winning pitcher Jake Gilhaus drove in two and J.D. Villafuerte had two hits for Normal.
No. 17 Sacred Heart-Griffin 12, Springfield Southeast 2
Cal Elvers had two hits and scored two runs and three Cyclones pitchers limited Southeast to three hits in the five-inning victory.
No. 18 Lemont 5, Reavis 2
Danny Rizzo pitched a two-hitter with six strikeouts and no walks for Lemont. Casey O’Brien and Garrett Acton had two hits apiece in the victory.
No. 20 Waterloo 4, Highland 1
Noah Thaggard struck out nine in a complete-game victory, scattering five hits and two walks. Erik Kaiser went 2-for-2 with two RBI for Waterloo.
Crystal Lake South 1, No. 22 Jacobs 0
Tyler Carlson pitched a four-hitter with four strikeouts and two walks to come out on top of a terrific duel with Jacobs’ Casey Dennison, who allowed just two hits and was done in by an unearned run. Griffin Bright drew a leadoff walk in the top of the first and scored the game’s only run on an error.
No. 23 Plainfield South 5, Minooka 3
Konnor Ash went 2-for-2 with three RBI, including a two-run double that broke a 3-3 tie in the fourth inning. Austin Marozas allowed three unearned runs on five hits with six strikeouts int he complete-game victory.
Waubonsie Valley 4, Metea Valley 0
Jason Neville pitched a no-hitter and Waubonsie scored all four runs in the top of the seventh. Neville struck out five and walked none, falling one error shy of a perfect game.
Naperville North 5, Glenbard North 4
Pinch-hitter Eric Rodriguez delivered a clutch two-run double plating the tying and go-ahead runs in the top of the seventh. Matt Pillatsch got the win, allowing four runs on six hits in the complete game. Nick Barrett hit a three-run homer for Glenbard North.
Neuqua Valley 5, Conant 1
Ricky Castro struck out seven in five innings of two-hit ball and James Gargano and Will Drake had two doubles apiece in the victory.
Barrington 3, Palatine 2
Blake Swanson (2-for-3) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh to win it for the Broncos. Jeff Korus tied it with an RBI single in the sixth for Barrington. Jeff Zyzda struck out nine and allowed three hits in the complete-game victory.
Schaumburg 5, Hoffman Estates 4
Vinnie Kandefer hit a pinch two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth as the Saxons battled back from a 4-0 deficit. Jack Bellinger went 2-for-3 with two RBI for Schaumburg. Parker Nolan gave up for unearned runs on five hits in 6⅔ innings for the win.
Elk Grove 7, Hersey 0
A.J. Lorenz and Luke Radtke each had two hits and two RBI and Jonathan Maday and three relievers combined on a four-hitter.
Stevenson 2, Antioch 1
Patrick Loeffler’s home run in the bottom of the sixth broke a 1-1 tie. Loeffler and Dylan Molek each went 3-for-3 for the Patriots.
Warren 2, Grayslake North 1
The Blue Devils scored two unearned runs in the seventh to make a winner of Christian Caban, who struck out three and did not allow a hit in two innings.
Vernon Hills 6, Lakes 3
Tommy Earhart allowed two earned runs in five hits in six innings for Vernon Hills. Drew Winegardner had two RBI in the victory.
Prairie Ridge 8, Grant 2
Ethan Routzahn allowed one hit in five innings and Nick Schmidt drove in two runs for the Wolves.
Cary-Grove 11, Dundee-Crown 0
Dan Schmidt allowed one hit while striking out seven in the five-inning victory. Matt McCumber went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI to lead the Trojans’ 11-hit attack.
Leyden 11, Lyons 7
Matt Ozanic went 2-for-4 with four RBI and Jeremy Borges had two hits and scored four runs as Leyden rallied from a 7-3 deficit after three innings. Sebastian Nowicki allowed two hits in four scoreless innings of relief to earn the win.
Downers Grove South 5, Downers Grove North 2
Ty McCulloch pitched a two-hitter and Danny Oriente had two doubles for South. McCulloch struck out three, walked three and and went 2-for-3 in the victory.
Hinsdale Central 15, Morton (Cicero) 0
Anthony Pescara pitched a five-inning perfect game with 10 strikeouts for the Red Devils. Andrew Zapka had two doubles.
Bradley-Bourbonnais 9, Lincoln-Way Central 0
Owen Starr struck out 14, walked none and allowed two harmless singles in the complete-game victory.
Bolingbrook 9, Joliet West 0
Joe Kmiec recorded nine strikeouts in the shutout. Jordan Jackson, Dylan Crouse and Mezlan Myers had multi-hit games for the Raiders.
Lockport 3, Lincoln-Way East 1
Ben Davis allowed a run on five hits while striking out five in 5⅔ and Dylan Barthel got the final four outs for the save.
Andrew 10, Thornwood 0
Dan Cryan pitched a no-hitter with nine strikeouts and two walks in the five-inning victory.
Plainfield East 6, Plainfield Central 1
Drew DeMumbrum pitched five innings of one-hit ball and went 3-for-4 for East. Matt Marchione had two hits and an RBI in the victory.
Oswego 5, Romeoville 0
Cole Aughenbaugh struck out eight in 5⅔ innings of two-hit ball and Carter Turnquist went 3-for-4 with two RBI for Oswego.
St. Ignatius 13, DePaul Prep 6
Noah Gilbert (3-for-5) doubled twice and had three RBI and four other St. Ignatius had three hits in the victory. Sophomore Will McManaman struck out five in five innings in improving to 5-2.
Glenbard South 13, St. Edward 4
Kyle Zygadto and Kyle Carli had three hits apiece and Fabian Garcia struck out 10 in six innings for Glenbard South. Tim Marks doubled and had three RBI in the victory.
Belleville West 4, Belleville East 3
Luke Vallandingham pitched a complete game and singled home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Cal Kossina went 3-for-4 with two RBI in the victory.
St. Joseph-Ogden 4, Maroa-Forsyth 1
Dalton Parker recorded 16 strikeouts and allowed four hits in going the distance to improve to 6-1. Mason Coon’s two-run double broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth inning.
Reed-Custer 1, Sandwich 0
Hunter Mirawski struck out 10 in a six-hit shutout for Reed-Custer.
Jacksonville 6, Rochester 3
Klay Wood homered, tripled, singled and drove in three for Jacksonville.
Mahomet-Seymour 8, Prairie Central 0
Ryan Harrison went 3-for-3 with three RBI and Nick Hermann struck out eight in five innings of two-hit ball for Mahomet-Seymour.
Monticello 6, St. Thomas More 2
Luke Stokowski had two RBI and Garrett Myers scattered eight hits in a complete-game victory for Monticello.
Centennial 10, Charleston 0
Luke Smith and Cameron Hedge teamed up on a five-inning no-hitter. Smith struck out five and walked two in three innings. Jordan Williams and Quin Nottingham hit home runs in the victory.
St. Charles East 10, Larkin 4
Jim Dale hit a home run and John Carroll doubled and drove in two for the Saints. Steve Podany struck out eight in five innings for the win.
West Chicago 6, East Aurora 1
Garrett Hosticka had a two-run double in the four-run first inning for West Chicago. Kyle Olson allowed an unearned run on three hits in five innings for the win.
Kaneland 9, Sycamore 3
Jacob Violett went 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBI for Kaneland. Preston Havis added three hits and three RBI.
Manteno 2, Plano 0
Justin Mazur pitched a five-hit shutout and struck out nine for Manteno. Eric Derossett went 3-for-3 in the victory.
Geneseo 5, Rochelle 1
Marshall Rice scattered six hits in a complete-game victory. Hunter DeSplinter had two hits and two RBI for Geneseo.
