Here is a look at some of the scores and highlights from games around the state on Monday, April 24, 2017.
Brentwood Academy 3, Father Ryan 2
Graham Tulloch put together a strong performance on the mound for the Eagles on Monday night, tossing 6 innings and allowing 5 hits, 2 walks, and 2 runs while striking out 8. Bryce Jarvis earned the save by striking out the side in the 7th. Easton Cline went 3-3 and Jack Victory drove in all three runs to help lead the offense in the win.
McNairy Central 12, Bolivar Central 10
The Bobcats' offense blew up to lead McNairy Central to victory on Monday night, pushing across 12 runs on 16 hits. Logan Roberts went 4-5 with 2 doubles, 2 runs, and 2 RBIs, while Sidney and Braden Rickman combined to go 4-9 with 5 runs and 2 RBIs. Thomas Stevens and Conner Jones both had 2 hits and 1 RBI in the win.
Covington 6, Ripley 3
Ty Warmath led the Chargers on both sides of the ball to earn their win on Monday evening against the Ripley Tigers. Warmath tossed all 7 innings and allowed only 2 earned runs with 6 strikeouts and finished 3-4 at the plate. Cole Howard and Austin Baskin both went 2-3 and Ethan Whitley and Tyler Higgins both had a hit and an RBI.
Independence 3, Franklin 0
Joey Fankhauser and Taylor Massey combined to toss a 3-hit shutout against Franklin on Monday night while walking only 3. Robert Hassell and Sam Molnar both had an RBI double and Dillan Saunders finished with a hit and 2 runs scored.
Bearden 8, Farragut 7 (10 innings)
The Bulldogs earned the win in Monday's back-and-forth battle with the Admirals of Farragut in 10-inning fashion on a walk-off wild pitch. Clark Poynter and David Beam combined to go 5-12 and scored 4 of the 8 Bearden runs. Brandon Trammell went 2-2 with 4 walks, a run, and an RBI, while Keith Gabrielson added 2 hits and 3 RBIs. Beam hit a home run.
Collierville 4, Bartlett 3
Adam Hall and RJ Dell both went 2-3 for the Dragons in their Monday evening victory, as Dell also added a run scored. Mitch Austin went 2-4 with an RBI and Tyler Sherman earned the W on the mound by tossing 6 innings and allowing only 6 hits and 1 earned run. Sherman struck out 9 and Chris Colebrook earned the save.
