Scores and highlights from around Kentucky last evening, highlighted by a marquis pitching matchup of Saint Xavier's Sam Melchior and Trinity's Yancey Pritchett.
(No.1) Saint Xavier 2 Trinity (Louisville) 0
Juniors Austin Clemons and Josh Osborne drove in runs in the first inning, and senior RHP Sam Melchior made them stand. Melchior allowed 3 hits and struck out 6 in the complete game shutout. Senior Yancey Pritchett was the hard luck losing pitcher, allowing 3 hits and striking out 9 in his 6 innings of work.
(No.7) PRP 6 Butler 4
Senior Hunter Johnson went the distance with 10 K’s to pick up the win. Josh Beams continued to swing a hot bat, going 3-4 with a double and RBI. Ryan Hart added 2 hits and scored 2 runs in the win.
(No.9) Lone Oak 10 Calloway County 1
Seth English had a big night at the plate and on the mound. The senior went 2-3 with a double, home run, and 2 RBI and worked 5 innings allowing 4 hits and 1 run to pick up the win. Micah Chessor added a double and 2 RBI for Lone Oak.

Adair County 2 (No.16) Russell County 1
Sophomore Zach Hutchison allowed 1 run in 5 plus innings, and Dusty Todd picked up the win in relief. Tanner Pooler had 2 hits to lead the Indians offense.
Henry Clay 4 (No.18) East Jessamine 3
David Salyers went 2-4 with a double and RBI, and Ian Hays added 2 hits. Trevor Hammonds picked up the win, tossing 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief of starter Mark Dill.

(No.21) Ryle 5 Conner 3
Tyler Mason and Tom Deters each had 3 hits to lead Ryle to the win. Mitchell See worked 6 innings, picking up 7 strikeouts, to pick up the win.
(No.24) South Laurel 14 Whitley County 3 (5 innings)
Zach Allen went 3-3 with a double and 3 RBI, and Austin Moore doubled and drove in 4 runs as South Laurel cruised to the win.
Corbin 8 Wiliamsburg 2
Taylor Combs homered and drove in 3 runs, and Austin O’Neil collected 2 hits and 2 RBI to lead Corbin. Kevin Goins continues to throw well, scattering 5 hits over 7 innings with 9 K’s for the win.
Middlesboro 10 Harlan County 0 (6 innings)
Brian Hale threw a 1-hiiter with 8 K’s and also added 2 hits and 2 RBI at the plate. Tyler Prater added a home run in the win for Middlesboro.
Fleming County 7 Mason County 5 (8 innings)
Fleming County took advantage of 12 walks to win despite being outhit 11-4. Aaron James and Bryson McKee both drove in 2 runs in the winning effort.
DuPont Manual 11 Portland Christian 0 (5 innings)
Sam Harper hit a 3-run home run, and Ben Hachten added 3 RBI as Manual cruised to the win. Aaron Pearcy recorded the win, racking up 10 K’s in his 5 innings of work.
Logan County 13 Warren East 2 (6 innings)
Gage Hales had a huge night at the plate, going 4-5 with a home run and 4 RBI. Ian Woodall added 3 hits in the win. Ryan Basham went the distance to pick up the win.
Pulaski County 17 Casey County 3 (5 innings)
The Maroons blasted out 16 hits en route to the victory.
North Bullitt 8 Bethlehem 0
Cody Stinnett went 3-3 with an RBI to lead North Bullitt. Josh Exton added 2 hits and Jacob Kelly 2 hits and 2 RBI. Exton racked up 6 K’s in 3 innings of work on the mound.
West Carter 3 Morgan County 2
Kyle Stone had 2 hits and 2 RBI to lead West Carter to the win. Tanner Tackett worked 5 2/3 innings to record the win, and Ben Jordan recorded the final 4 outs to pick up the save.
Boyd County 8 Lewis County 0
Dylan Grimm went 2-3 with 3 RBI, and Jacob Barnwell added an RBI and scored 2 runs. Corey Sublet worked 5 shutout innings to pick up the win.
Nelson County 3 North Hardin 0
Junior LHP Jared Proctor continued his outstanding season. Proctor went the distance for the complete game, 2-hit shutout with 7 K’s. Tyler Spalding went 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI in the win.
Webster County 2 Caldwell County 1
Brennen Pritchett singled home the winning run in the top of the 7th to lift Webster County. Tyler Hedrick added 2 hits, including a triple, in the win. Hunter Nichols went the distance, striking out 5, to pick up the win.
Warren Central 1 Bowling Green 0
In what was a classic pitcher’s duel, Warren Central managed to scrape across a run in the 4th inning and make it stand for the win. Central’s Nathan Bowen allowed 3 hits and racked up 13 K’s in going the distance for the win. Bowling Green’s Tyler Kilgus was the hard luck losing pitcher, allowing just 1 hit and striking out 10 in his 7 innings of work.

Colton White collected 2 hits, and Kolton Keown drove in 2 runs for Hancock County.
