Plenty of action around Kentucky yesterday, highlighted by a marquis pitching matchup between Central Hardin's Andrew Harrington and Woodford County's Clinton Hollon. Here are the scores and highlights from all the Saturday action around the state.
(No.1) Saint Xavier 6 (No.11) Male 1
Sophomore Grant Wessling went the distance, scattering 6 hits, for the win. Austin Clemons went 3-3 with a double and RBI, and Sam Melchior added 2 hits. Hayden Ford added a double and RBI and Sam Springer a triple and RBI in the victory.
(No.2) Central Hardin 1 (No.4) Woodford County 0
It was a battle of two of the top pitchers in the state as Woodford’s Clinton Hollon and Central Hardin’s Andrew Harrington locked up in a pitcher’s duel. The Bruins scored the lone run of the game when Zach Ditto reached base on a single, and Harrington drove him in with a double. Harrington finished the game with 13 K’s in going the distance for the win. Hollon finished with 8 K’s in taking the hard luck loss.
(No.18) Russell County 2 (No.2) Central Hardin 1 (8 innings)
Garrett Stephens drew a bases loaded walk in the 8th inning for the win. Tyler Robertson went the distance for Russell County, surrendering 1 run on 7 hits with 8 strikeouts in his 8 innings of work. Robertson also hit a solo home run to tie the game in the 6th inning.
(No.3) Lexington Catholic 10 Fleming County 0 (5 innings)
Michael Talbott doubled twice, Chase Boling went 2-3 with a double, and Taylor Henley went 2-3 with 2 RBI to lead the Knights. Four pitchers combined for the 5 inning shutout.
(No.4) Woodford County 6 (No.18) Russell County 3
Pete O’Nan picked up the win for Woodford County. O’Nan worked 3 scoreless innings of relief and racked up 8 strikeouts. Andy Stepp went 3-4 with a double and 3 RBI, and Eli Boggess went 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI in leading the Yellow Jackets to the win.
(No.5) Collins 10 Fairdale 7
Mason Jeffries and Zac Wiley continue to swing hot bats for the 19-0 Titans. Jeffries went 3-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI, and Wiley doubled, drove in 2 runs, and scored 2 runs as Collins used a 5 run seventh inning to escape with the victory. Austin Perry threw 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief with 4 strikeouts to pick up the win.
(No.6) PRP 9 Jeffersontown 1
Jonathon Cavanaugh went 3-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI, and Hunter Johnson added a home run as PRP cruised to the win. Greg Laughlin allowed just 1 hit in 5 shutout innings for the win.
(No.6) PRP 8 Ballard 4
PRP survived a 4-run first inning by Ballard in the come-back victory. Hunter Johnson doubled and drove in 4 runs, and Blake Stewart, Austin Beckman, and Jacob Clair each collected 2 hits in the win. Kyle Olliges went the distance with 7 K’s to record the win.
(No.7) Paul Laurence Dunbar 11 Greenwood 1 (5 innings)
Grant Herald collected 3 hits and scored 4 runs, Joey Aviloi had 2 hits and 2 RBI, and Jack Cress drove in 3 runs as PLD cruised to the 5-inning win. Connor McHugh allowed 2 hits and 1 run in 4 innings to pick up the win.
(No.7) Paul Laurence Dunbar 7 (No.15) West Jessamine 6
Grant Herald, Tyler Brummer, and Nicky Avioli each collected extra base hits and drove in 2 runs apiece as Dunbar won its second game of the day. Patrick Purracchio picked up the win, and Aaron Ochsenbein struck out 4 over the final 2 1/3 innings to record the save.
(No.9) Lone Oak 9 Heath 0
Austin Drake went 2-4 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI, and Seth English added 3 hits as Lone Oak won its 15 consecutive game to move to 15-1 on the season. Zach Roethemeyer struck out 7 and allowed 1 hit over 5 innings to pick up the win.

Lafayette plated a run in the bottom of the 7th for the win. Graham Carmack had 2 hits in the victory, and Jack Noftsger scattered 4 hits over 7 innings to record the win.
(No.13) Tates Creek 12 (No.21) Shelby County 6
Devin Hairston went 4-6 with 2 doubles, Blake Rose went 3-3 and scored 3 runs, Javon Shelby blasted a home run, and Jordan Fucci added 3 hits as Tates Creek erupted for 17 hits in the game.
(No.14) Harrison County 1 Franklin County 0
Senior Brandon Kendall went the distance in racking up 14 K’s for the complete game shutout. Senior Nick Cumpston was the hard luck losing pitcher, allowing just 3 hits with 6 K’s for Franklin County.
(No.14) Harrison County 12 Conner 5
John King went 4-4 with a double and scored 3 runs to lead Harrison County. Zach Royce added 2 doubles and 2 RBI, and Cody Honeycutt went 2-3 with an RBI in the win.
(No.16) East Jessamine 12 Boone County 7
Jarryd Settles went 3-4 with 3 doubles and 4 RBI to power East Jessamine. Billy Russell added 3 hits and 2 RBI, and Sam Hall 2 hits and 2 RBI in the win. Forrest Baldwin allowed 3 hits and no earned runs with 6 K’s to record the win.
(No.17) Madison Central 13 Madison Southern 0 (5 innings)
Ben Morin went 2-3 with an RBI and scored 2 runs, and Jimmy wright collected 3 RBI to lead the Indians to the easy victory. Jeremy Lakes was the winning pitcher, throwing 3 scoreless innings.

Shelby County broke open a close game by scoring 6 runs in the top of the 7th inning. Kipp Moore went 3-3 with a double and 2 runs scored, and Kevin Veeley went 2-4 with 2 RBI as the Rockets bounced back from a defeat earlier in the day. Kam Bruner went 4 1/3 innings to record the win.

Sam Higgs, Quinn Thomas, and Ethan Meeler all collected 2 hits apiece for the Colonels. Marty Coursey allowed 4 hits and no earned runs over 6 innings to pick up the win. Coursey struck out 7 over his 6 innings of work.

Kaleb Duckworth, Sam Higgs, and Daniel Steiner all had 2 hits each in the win for Henderson County. Higgs scattered 5 hits over 7 innings and struck out 6 to record the win.

Jake Ashley hit a 3-run home run to lead Ryle to the win.

Hazard jumped out to a 12-0 lead after 2 innings. Austin Johnson had 2 doubles and 3 RBI, and Evan Whitaker launched a 3-run home run. Freshman Griffin Wells picked up the win.
Bethlehem 12 Fort Knox 0 (5 innings)
Chance Bodine, Nolan Johnson, and Thomas Osborne all collected 2 hits and 2 RBI to lead Bethlehem. Osborne threw a complete game 1-hitter with 5 K’s to pick up the win.
Mercer County 8 Boyle County 2
Russell Sims racked up five RBIs on two hits for Mercer County. He tripled in the third inning and homered in the fourth inning.
Franklin County 8 Simon Kenton 0
The Flyers pounded out 16 hits en route to the victory. Nick Cumpston and Alex McKinney led the way with 3 hits apiece. Eric Andersen went the distance in throwing a complete game 2-hit shutout with 6 strikeouts.
Danville 6 Nelson County 4
Danville used a 5-run fifth inning to defeat Nelson County. Will Graham went 2-3 with a double and RBI to lead the Admirals offense. Jack Graham added 2 RBI to contribute to the win. Cole Phillips earned the win on the mound allowing 1 earned run on 2 hits over 5 innings of work.
Danville 7 Bullitt Central 0
Jay Hunn went 3-3 with a double and RBI, and Cole Phillips added 2 hits and a double as Danville won its second game of the day. Ben Mahan and Kyle Lange combined for the shutout.
Western Hills 2 Fern Creek 1
Thomas Bennet went 2-4 and drove in a run, and Kyle Fisher doubled to lead Western Hills. Five Western Hills pitchers combined in holding Fern Creek to 3 hits.
Henry Clay 7 Campbell County 1
David Salyers went 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI, and Wyatt Terrell added 2 hits in the win.
Henry Clay 9 Cooper 4
Wyatt Terrell had 3 hits and 3 RBI to lead Henry Clay to its second win of the day.
Butler 4 Whitefield Academy 3
Butler scored a run in the top of the seventh for the win. Kyle Goodman had 2 hits, and Kyle Lewis added 2 RBI in the victory. Tyler Sturgeon threw 4 1/3 innings in relief, allowing 1 hit with 5 K’s, to pick up the win.
Bullitt Central 8 Nelson County 3
Cody Powell went 2-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI, and Jasen Davis drove in 2 runs to lead Bullitt Central.
White House TN 6, Logan County 5
Matt Harper and Ryan Basham each collected 2 hits in the loss for Logan County.
Logan County 12 Grayson County 2
Ian Woodall went 3-5 with a grand slam, and Matt Harper went 3-5 and drove in 2 runs as the Cougars pounded out 16 hits in the victory. Hunter Britt scattered 5 hits in going the distance for the win.
Garrard County 7 Clay County 6
Evan Smith drove in Gentry Young with a single in the bottom of the 7th for the walk-off win. Ronnie Saylor went 2-3 with a home run and 2 RBI in the victory.
Casey County 10 Burgin 2
Jonathan Gillock, Alex Atwood, Blaine Sharp, Matt Sharp, and Kyle Scott all collected 2 hits each for Casey County. Atwood racked up 11 K’s in 6 2/3 innings to pick up the win.
DeSales 2 Madisonville 0
James Davenport pitched a perfect game for DeSales. Davenport retired all 21 hitters he faced with 8 strikeouts to pick up the win.
North Hardin 5 DeSales 1
Javier Echevarria collected 2 hits, and Markus Bell drove in 3 runs for North Hardin. Sy Ogden allowed 1 run over 4 1/3 innings to record the win.
Harlan County 7 South Warren 5 (8 innings)
Hunter Ferry powered the South Warren offense going 3-4 with 2 doubles. Jacob Lewis added 2 RBI in the victory.
Montgomery County 7 Estill County 5
Sam Lee, Chas Newkirk, Zach Wood, and Jordan Nester all collected 2 hits each for the Indians.
Boyd County 10 Cabell Midland 1
Dylan Grimm doubled twice and drove in 3 runs, and Jacob Barnwell tripled and added 3 RBI as well in the Boyd County win. Billy McCoy worked 5 strong innings to pick up the win.
Boyd County 19 Pikeville 5 (5 innings)
Jacob Barnwell doubled, tripled, and drove in 3 runs as Boyd County pounded out 17 hits. Dylan Grimm and Tanner Bryan each added 2 hits and 3 RBI.
Bethlehem 2 Campbellsville 1
Jimmy Keating allowed 1 run on 4 hits in going the distance for the win. Conner Ballard was the offensive star of the game going 2-3 with a double and home run in the victory.
Corbin 9 Harlan County 3
Taylor Combs went 2-3 with a double and RBI, and Austin O’Neil 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI to lead the Red Hounds. Jacob Metzger struck out 6 over 4 1/3 innings to pick up the win.

Noah Pike went 3-3 with 2 RBI, and Zach Burton allowed 1 hit and struck out 6 in going the distance for the win.
