League play is underway in all classification, here is a look at action from yesterday.
Daily Roundup:
Legend 6 Regis 3
With the game tied going into the top of the 3rd inning, the Titans pounded out 3 runs to take a 5-2 lead and added another run in the top of the 7th to win this critical Continental league game on Thursday. Legend was led by Jordan Stubbings (2017) who had a great day at the plate going 3 for 4 with 4 RBI’s, and the pitching of Brody McCord (2018) who went 6.2 innings giving up 9 hits but only 3 runs.
Mullen 3 Grandview 2
Grandview tied the game 2 to 2 in the top of the 5th, but in the bottom of the 7th Mullen was able to get in the winning run to win their Centennial league game on Thursday. Grandview’s Luke LaFlam (2018) pitched a strong 6 inning allowing just 2 hits and 2 earned runs but Mullen’s Joey Salvato (2017) drove in the winning run, going 1 for 4.
Cherokee Trail 9 Eaglecrest 1
The Cougars now have won 2 games in a row and the defending state champs are getting back to playing great baseball, and beat up on the Raptors on Thursday. Cherokee Trail was led by, Nick Perez (2017) who had a monster game going 3 for 4 with a jack, and driving in 6 runs, and Eric Cox (2017) threw a complete game allowing just 1 run.
Cherry Creek 14 Smoky Hill 2
#1 Cherry Creek smoked the Buffaloes on Thursday in 5 innings. The Bruins’ Cody Schultz (2017), Brennen Dorighi (2018), and Brice Martinez (2019) each had 3 RBI’s.
Air Academy 11 Cheyenne Mountain 3
Air Academy got all over Cheyenne Mountain on Thursday. The Kadets Brendan Knopp (2017) was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s and also scored 2 times, and Josh Dudden (2017) was 2 for 3 scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 runs.
