Watson Chapel 4 vs Catholic HS
Watson Chapel High School rallied late to beat Catholic High School 4-3.
Catholic High School started the scoring in the 2nd inning with a MIF Cameron Tissue Sac fly that scored OF Chandler. That was followed by MIF Joe Myers solo home run. Watson Chapel answered back scratching out a run with a run in the 4th when Jaylen Jackson led off the inning with a single up the middle, moved to second on a passed ball. He was advanced to third on a ground ball and later scored a 1B/LHP Justin Peirce ground ball to short stop.
Watson Chapel scored 2 more in the 5th and 1 in the 7th to seal the victory. Catholic fought back in the bottom of the 7th one on a C William Hancock single but fell short as RHP Hayden Arnold closed the door.
An intriguing part of this game was the performance of the young pitchers that pitched for both clubs. 2017 Noah Fowler started for Catholic, he pitched 4 innings giving up one earned run scattering 5 hits striking out 2. 2018 LHP Kaleb Hill picked up the victory for Watson Chapel throwing 3 innings giving up 1 run, 1 hit and striking out 3. 2017 Hayden recorded his first save of the year closing out the 7th with 1 inning and 2 strike outs.
Catholic HS will be back in action on Monday, March 17th against North Little Rock HS, while Watson Chapel HS will play Bryant HS on Monday.
